The inaugural parade and swearing-in for Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley and the City Council will begin at 1 p.m. Monday. An One Annapolis Inaugural Ball will follow starting at 6 p.m. at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel.

Mayor & City Council Inauguration
Monday, December 6, 2021

Afternoon Parade and Swearing-in Ceremony
Outdoor event
West Street, between Calvert Street and Church Circle

1pm: Street Parade
The newly elected Council, Mayor Buckley and his family, will march from Calvert Street onto West Street. The parade will also feature color guard and marching bands.

2pm: Swearing-in
Mayor Buckley and the new Council will be sworn-in on a stage erected at West Street and Church Circle. The ceremonies will include guest speakers, music, poetry readings and the Mayor’s inaugural address.

The parade and swearing-in ceremony are free and open to the public.
Please note: seating will be limited standing room is ample or bring your own chair.

6pm: VIP Reception and buffet
VIP tickets provide access to a VIP reception and buffet with Mayor Gavin Buckley beginning at 6pm. VIP level tickets also provide free entry for another resident who may not otherwise be able to attend.

7-10pm: Inaugural Ball
General admission tickets include 7pm entry to the ball which will feature musical entertainment, drinks, and light fare throughout the evening.

*Gold Sponsor, VIP, and General Admission tickets are available. Proceeds from ticket sales fund the Inaugural Events. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite.

What is the Dress Code?
There is no enforced dress code for this event but formal attire is suggested, black tie is accepted, and come dressed with flair is a great option too!

Questions we are receiving, one is about parking. Here is some info for Parking options that will be available:

St. Mary’s, the lot, behind the church, parking will be available for self-parking at no charge
Paul’s parking next to the Annapolis Waterfront approx. 25 spaces will be available, first come/ first serve, pay Paul at his booth $15
The Annapolis Elementary School lot open/ and staffed (all vehicles must be out after the event and not be there in the AM when school opens) the cost is $4.00 per hour until full (Approx. 55 spaces).
We also recommend parking at the Annapolis City Marina and a short walk over the bridge
At the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel, there will be a set up to handle Taxis, Ubers/ drop offs and enough staff to communicate parking options to guests. Waterfront will take a limited number of valet cars ($20) for the event as they have many overnight guests staying at the hotel that evening.
Spaces are available downtown at no charge for three hours at any metered spot.
