We are excited to share the results of our annual MRE Challenge that took place on Tuesday, September 17 and Thursday, September 19, 2024. Our ProStart Level 1 and 2 students, along with ProBaking, showcased their creativity, teamwork, and culinary skills in an exciting competition.

We are so proud of all the participants for their hard work, dedication, and teamwork. The judges were impressed by their ability to craft delicious meals using MRE (Meal Ready-to-Eat) ingredients! If you see or have any of these students send them a bit of praise for their accomplishments

A bit late… better late than never!

1st Annual New Mexico National Guard MRE challenge was a complete success. ProStart Culinary students set the bar high!

SGT Solis was impressed with their creativity, skills, and confidence in the kitchen!

I am beyond proud of these students and their ability to take on a new challenge and flourish under pressure! Ms.Amanda Noel Holguin and I are very blessed to have some of the best students in the Hospitality and Tourism Pathway!

1st annual New Mexico National Guard MRE challenge will be tomorrow! ProStart students will be tasked with using all edible components of an MRE to make an elevated main dish!

We are very excited to have SGT Solis from the New Mexico National Guard bring this challenge to GHS and hopefully next year to all GISD high schools!

Oh you know… just baking a cake with mystery ingredients. Teaching the Panther Hut Kiddos the importance of labeling items in the kitchen!

Don’t worry chef survived eating a few cakes made with laundry detergent and sink cleaner 😅😅
