Due to unforeseen circumstances, open mic at Calavera’s has to be canceled tonight!!However there is an Open Mic today at Acoca from 6-8pm. Comedians and musicians welcome 🤗 Open Mic will resume as normal next week with some more updates!!

I would like to thank all of the comedians that have come out and supported Open Mic at Calavera’s. You are a huge part behind the reason we have continued strong for over 3 years now! With 2025, we are making some changes for the betterment of the participants and suppprters. One of our new changes is that comedy night is now on the third Thursday of EVERY month. So no more comedians waiting until 9:30pm to perform, as you will have top priority on time slots. Musicians are still welcome to participate, they will just have to wait their turn on those Thursdays. Yes, this does mean that comedy open mic is only once a month, but I hope it helps prevent some comedians from feeling pressured to show up with new material EVERY week. You have a chance to come fresh every month now. With the other open mics at ICU, Skyline, and Acoca you’ll still have weekly opportunities to perform in the Fox Valley. So put on your writing hat and let’s see the whole comedy crew in February and let’s hear some new stuff.

I’ll be setting up a stage for Open Mic moving forward. In addition, we are going to be making some good changes to the Open Mic format to benefit both comedians and musicians. I’ll let you know tonight!! New year, new us!!!
