We are so excited to announce that two of our photos won in the first-ever Elopement Photography Awards!

These two photos represent some of our favorite things about elopements. The freedom to break traditional wedding rules, the time and space to welcome spontaneity, the celebration of the outdoors, and the unfiltered joy that comes with planning a day that is all about you and your partner (and your furry friends).

✨ Astronomical Events of 2024 ✨

☀️ April 8th, 2024 - Total Solar Eclipse - While we won't get to see a total eclipse here in Colorado, the sun will be 60-65% blocked by the moon, which we still think is pretty cool!
☄️ May 6th, 2024 - Eta Aquarid Meteor Shower - See 10-30 meteors per hour as it peaks before dawn.
☄️ August 13th, 2024 - Perseid Meteor Shower - This is by far our favorite meteor shower of the year! See 50-100 meteors per hour as it peaks before dawn!
🌘 September 17th, 2024 - Partial Lunar Eclipse + Supermoon - This night won't be great for Milky Way viewing, but we think the coincident partial lunar eclipse and supermoon will be an amazing sight!

If you've spent any time with Alex, you've probably heard at least one of his fun facts about stargazing. It's no secret that one of our favorite things to capture on an elopement day is the Milky Way. For many people, it's a rare occurrence to be in a dark enough location to view the Milky Way, let alone a meteor shower. Last year, we were lucky enough to witness both the Milky Way and meteor showers with multiple couples.

No matter how many wishes you've gotten to make on a meteor, the moment of excitement when someone spots one never gets old. If you're considering including an astronomical event in your elopement day, or even if you aren't, let us know which one you would choose!

🏜️ From Sedona, to Moab, to Joshua Tree, desert sunsets never disappoint.

One sunset we will never forget was on S + Z's elopement day. We ended the evening on a rocky overlook at sunset. There was golden light, bright orange light, and then BAM! Pink-ish red light that made everything look like we were on Mars. It was like the desert was showing off its best party tricks just for S + Z's big day. We half expected a little alien to come waltzing out with us during their first dance. Seriously, it was out of this world! 👽🚀

💍⛰️Private Vow Exchanges

Are you eloping with guests but also want the experience of exchanging your vows just the two of you in the wilderness? You can have both! Many of our couples are choosing to have a "formal" ceremony with their guests in addition reading their vows alone.

The benefits of a private vow exchange:
❤️ You will have more location options
🧡 You can pour your heart out to your partner without anyone else listening
💛 You can exchange your vows early or late in the day when guests might not want to be out
💚 You might feel less nervous with just your partner present and therefore allow yourself to be more vulnerable

Have we mentioned that we love dogs? We love learning about each dog's unique personality. There's the shy dogs, the center of attention dogs, the sleepy dogs, the perfectly behaved dogs, and the chaos monsters who get mud on the train and the zoomies during the ceremony. We love them all.

This snowy weather has us thinking back to M + M’s snowy October elopement. The snow that morning fell fast and with safety in mind, we had to think even faster to switch up our plans for the day. The wind gusted through the mountains and made the snow feel like tiny rocks hitting our skin.

We carefully made our way down the mountain to find a new place to have their ceremony. This area is full of trail systems and fortunately, we are familiar with a lot of them. The particular trail we decided to try was one we hadn’t visited in person before. But we had the trail map and difficulty rating, so we decided to give it a try, and we are so thankful we did!

As soon as we rounded the corner, all four of us felt a rush of excitement. And while it was still windy and cold, M + M gathered the confidence and exchanged their vows in the most beautiful mountain meadow.

We cannot wait to share their elopement film soon! 😍

Teaser | Hot Air Balloon Adventure

Today started with a sunrise hot air balloon ride over San Miguel de Allende. It was a little nerve-wracking at times, but the views were incredible! Michelle + Ricardo are getting married tomorrow and we are SO excited to celebrate with them!

Yesterday, my oldest friend married the love of her life. Danica and I grew up talking about what our wedding days would be like and who we would end up with. The day was not the way our 12 year old selves imagined her wedding would be. Honestly, it was probably better. It was such an honor to be a part of Danica + Ron's wedding day.
