The Making of SugarFest
Years ago the City of Arab had a fireworks show hosted by a local citizen. But, alas, there have been no fireworks lighting the sky above Arab for many, many years. But before they knew it, other ideas for the community were being thrown out left & right: an Arts & Crafts Show, a Kid’s Area, Food Trucks, a Carnival, a 5k Race, live music until the fireworks show had grown

into a one day community festival! But what to call it? Is it a music festival? An Arts & Crafts Show? What will it grow to be? What is the one thing those all have in common? It’s in the South and life is sweeter in the South, right sugar? SugarFest! Taking place annually on the Saturday of Labor Day at Arab City Park, we hope you will make plans to attend!

Every year the SugarFest board contributes money to support our local community. This year we are proud to announce that we have been able to donate $5000 to the Arab Police Department, Arab Fire Dept, City of Arab, Alabama, and the Arab Emergency Relief Fund. In addition, we were also able to donate $18,000 to the Arab Parks & Recreation to assist in upgrading some of the lighting around the parking lots. We appreciate everyone that participated, visited, and shared our event.
