Oh man that fu***ng sucks!!!!!
Tony I can't thank you enough for all the times me, you and Joe and everybody that played with us that got to jam there before the brewery took over.

The Old Arabi sheds by the wall hosted bands from 1982 through 2016. When the property was acquired by a local brewery that unfortunately went out of business less than a year later. The building sat idle for the last several years. With hopes and dreams that it would one day become a place for bands to harness there skills once again in St. Bernard Parish. Unfortunately that time never came.

I will always have great memories of that place from seeing all the great bands in their budding stages back in the mid 1980s to where they blossomed from there. It was a great part of our history growing up in the music scene. Especially during those summer months when we were carefree teenagers. There would be hundreds of people out there listening to the band's practice after stopping at The chateau on Judge Perez in Arabi buying a brown bagged cheap 40 oz beer. Then plopping up on the levee wall watching the bands practiced with the metal roll doors flung wide open and the volume as loud as it could go! We were in our own corner of the world back there. Jamming to the bands and talking with everybody. There was something magical about hearing the music come out of those metal sheds with the wind and the sounds of the Mississippi River behind you with the silhouette of the city in New Orleans in the background. Some great music was written back there. A lot of great bands practiced back there that we all grew up with and we're all still friends with. So tonight we bid you farewell...

„From the mid/late 80’s on through the early 90’s, few other experiences matched the unity felt at Exhorder shows in New Orleans. Our audience might as well have been ”The Island of Misfit Toys”, but all were welcome as long as you weren’t making problems. The opening slots were priceless for up and coming bands, as well as regional acts successful in other towns, but looking to break it in New Orleans. We did trade off gigs with them, and helped out local bands in need of exposure as much as we could. It was once about the scene here in New Orleans. Today, we are bringing that back to you. We cannot turn back the clock, but we sure as hell can return to the mindset of looking out for our brothers and sisters of the music community. Welcome back to the family, New Orleans!“ - wise words brought to you by Kyle.

This is a page I'm working on to celebrate a great piece of the New Orleans metal scene history. From 1982-2015. As of July 1, 2015 the 40 Arpent brewing company who now owns the building received a grant and plan to extend their brewery into the historic building. We welcome them to continue and honor the area with music which they intend on doing, but we never will forget spending our teenage years back there meeting friends and getting to see great bands. I'm lucky enough to be in one of the last bands that have called this place home. There's something about cranking up the guitars with the breeze of the mighty Mississippi at your back that makes great stuff happen!!! Let's here your story. We plan on having a final gathering on Saturday June 27. Please share and come celebrate the legacy of the old Arabi sheds by the wall.
