And she hates Sunshine ☀️
She’s magnificent and marvelous and my most favorite villain of all time. Wilting flowers left and right and living in the darkness of her cabin in the woods. Mad Madam Mim, you will always be my favorite.

Who needs responsibility’s anyway?
There is something special about fall, and that time in your home to just slow down and be cozy. It’s a great time to reflect on all that has come before, and to prepare for the slower days ahead. Also a great time to forget about all the other chores I had because I just want to nestle into my little craft cave.
The perk for me is it’s a great time to catch up on all of my preservation pieces and to create forever, floral art.
I may or may not have a pre-order on these kits coming up soon.
Comment below if you are interested so I know if this is something I should put together.
If you really want one….
Make sure to check out my post from yesterday where I am giving one of these away and more!!!!
Don’t miss out my GIVEAWAY!!!🌷🌷🌷

Flowers and forests are meant to be together.
Just make sure you create dreamy color story to go against the magical forest.
I do a lot of weddings and magical forests, and I must say that when the flowers are bold and bright, they just amplify the space so much. They also photograph amazingly.
When you’re getting married in a space that has a lot of dark and earthy tones in the backdrop, using bright bold colors is my favorite. For this wedding, we had some neutral tones, but the accent colors were the bright and bold colors that made it pop against the luscious forest backdrop.
If you are dreaming of getting married in a forest, let me know which is your favorite Forest in the comments below!
I am a Forest girl 100% and I love to hear about all the different magical forests in the world.

Can you imagine a secret garden in the forest?
This ceremony scene was everything whimsical and garden like and quite honestly my favorite of the season. Using summer garden blooms to accent the day and give the airy fairyness to the forest was truly dreamy.

My fave florist hack 🌷🧚♀️✨
I know we can’t all have our own flower farms and cutting gardens, but I highly encourage you if you are a florist to even grow a few of your favorite focal flowers. Whether it’s in pots, garden beds, a greenhouse, or whatever space you may have. Even if it’s only 5 plants or 100- it’s so rewarding to just go out and cut what you may be lacking in your design or that extra splash of color or filler.
Now- just for the record… I DO NOT only use my own grown flowers. The most important thing to me as a floral designer to my clients is to provide the most beautiful and best quality flowers for their special day.
I do that by using you as much local product as possible that’s the freshest and seasonal. I also order florals from wholesale suppliers like @mayeshwholesale to get me exactly what I wanted to create the desired design.
When I am able to use my own flowers as extra, it’s a win for me! This year my garden has been a little bit of an eyesore, but there’s always something I could pull out of there.
Here are some of my favorite and easy to grow flowers that you may want to save and remember for next year!
-Garden roses of course 😉
@david_austin_roses are my fave.
-Dahlias! Check out @bloomtideflowers in late winter and early spring when she sells her amazing stock of tubers! She is local too so that’s a perk.
-sweet peas 🧚♀️ the most romantic and frilly flower around
-zinnias, a easy to grow annual!
-cosmos, another fantastic annual and so easy to grow!
Check out @floretflower for their amazing zinnia seed collection!
If you think you can’t grow flowers and that you don’t have a green thumb- I highly encourage you to try! No one gets a green thumb until they actually grow something 😉
Happy flowering friends 🧚♀️🌷

Don’t forget to say “whimsical”,
when asking your florist for your wedding flowers.
If you are local- ask me🧚♀️
These sweet minimal dish centerpiece is the perfect option if you want more than bud vases and not a large centerpiece. I have added tons of these this year and they are like my new fave.

The magic of flowers ✨
Did you know that flowers and gardening significantly help boost your mood and are great stress reducers?
I mean- I don’t have all the facts but there is scientific proof that it’s true.
I can vouch for it and can tell you from my experience that my flowers bring me an incredible joy and I’m thankful every day for this passion of mine.
So here’s your reminder to go outside and smell some flowers 🌸

I alam so excited to have been able to make these single variety posies for the bridesmaid’s for today’s wedding.
Each bridesmaid got a bouquet using one flower variety from the bride’s bouquet. So they all had a part of her special day 🌸💕
Just the sweetest way to say thank you to your loved ones who help make your day the best day ever.
Of course I had to make a fun video montage of all of these cuties!
Which one is your favorite?
Mine are the dancing agrostemma at the end.

I have vitiligo and it’s beautiful 🌸
Today is World Vitiligo Day and for the first time in a while, I am feeling confident in my skin.
I’m a floral designer, gardener, and floral preservation artist and use my polka dot hands all the time. I find myself hiding them behind my flowers a lot.
Today- they are the spot light.
I was diagnosed with vitiligo as a little girl and only had a couple couple little patches.
As I got older, I gained a few more patches.
Over the last three years after I turned 40 I started to get a lot more patches.
They are primarily on my hands and now some around my mouth.
The ones on my hand started out gradually and now there’s polkadots everywhere.
It’s progressing pretty quickly and it’s very hard to slow down.
I’ve learned to love my little polkadots. Some of them look like hearts, and I think that’s just the cutest thing ever. I do struggle with the vitiligo around my mouth. I’m very self-conscious about it and find myself wearing lipstick a lot more than I ever did in my life.
This is something that I’m learning to deal with and it’s just one more thing to feel self-conscious about as you get older.
Gray hairs, wrinkles, stretch, marks, weight gain, bags under the eyes, and now vitiligo or just parts of who I am and what I look like as I get older.
Learning to love myself is just is just so necessary.
I’m thankful for being able to find a community of others here on social media with vitiligo. They really help encourage me to love my skin.
@mckylamariposa is someone I have really been encouraged by for several years now. The way she loves her skin and shares her vitiligo has made me see how beautiful mine is. Thank you so much for always being so positive and encouraging.
If you are struggling with vitiligo, know that you are not alone and that you are beautiful.
There are approximately 1 in 100 people who live with vitiligo- so you are not alone.

“That’ll do donkey, that’ll do.”
Throwing a Shrek themed birthday party for our nine-year-old daughter Ruby is probably one of the funniest things we’ve done in a minute.
I’m a floral designer and I work in the Wedding industry but I tell you throwing birthday parties for my kids is one of my passions. Getting into the theme as much as I can is one of those things that I do and can always be expected from me at a birthday party.
This year, however, it was my husband who stole the spotlight. When I suggested that he dressed up as Shrek and get attacked by a bunch of nine-year-olds with water, balloons, and slime, he was all game.
Can’t thank him for being such a good sport and for being the best dad!
Ruby loves making slime as most kids her age do and it’s just one of those things that she’s obsessed with. So slime and Shrek just kind of went hand-in-hand, wouldn’t you say?
We had a a slime making station where all their little charms were fairytale characters and they were trying to get them in the slimy swamp.
Then we decorated gingerbread men or gingerbread ladies, It was great fun.
Of course we pinned the tail on donkey! We had to get him to shut up somehow.
For party favors, the kids got more slime, tattoos, and stickers, of course, and gingerbread gummy’s with gum drops in little Duloc Castles.
No Shrek party is complete without ogre ear headbands!
But hold on definitely not a Shrek party if you don’t have a grumpy ogre who has just been woken up from his nap. Brock dressed up as Shrek and it was the best. He nailed it. The kids nailed him with water balloons, and then Ruby got to slim him in the very end.
what a party! What a show!
Happy birthday to our sweet, sassy, silly, just plain all Rad Ruby!
We love you toot.
Thank you to @ramonesbakery for making this cute cake and giving me exactly what I wanted.
