Flower of the week is a sunflower.

You cannot think about August without thinking of these bright blooms dotted across fields and gardens. Plus they are such an iconic flower in pop culture, art and design. Not only will you find newer varieties like this one, called teddy bear they also come in a lighter shade of yellow/white and burgundy. They need to have 6-8 hours of sunlight and have plenty space to grow. When in a vase make sure you check the water level frequently.

Bloom of the week-Zinnias!

These are truly a favorite summer flower for vases and your garden. They come in every imaginable color you can think of. In recent years, there are newer varieties that are so unique and beautiful. They definitely have a good vase life too You will just want to change the water more frequently to prevent bacteria from growing. Plant care is pretty easy too! If I can grow them anyone can. They need plenty of sun and are drought tolerant. The more blooms you cut, the more they will flower. Just be careful not to overwater them.

Starting this week I am going to post a “pick of the week” flower. I will share a little info about the specific bloom and hopefully inspires you to either grow or use it in your next arrangement 💚

This week’s bloom is Sweet William-with its delicate fringed petals it adds a soft and romantic touch to any bouquet. Its sweet fragrant is also very pleasing and has a long vase life. Who doesn’t like that! Color options are fuschia, pink, coral white and bicolor🌺
