Downtown Arlington lights up the night on Thursday, July 3, 2025 with Light Up Arlington! 🎆 This FREE, family-friendly event runs from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and will include some of the top musical acts in DFW, vendors, food trucks, kid-friendly fun, and a dazzling fireworks display!

The fireworks display, which lasts about 20 minutes, is scheduled to start at 9:50 p.m.

Effective June 17, 2025, City of Arlington, TX - Animal Services has temporarily paused accepting owner-surrendered pets until further notice. The shelter is operating significantly beyond its capacity, making it challenging to accommodate new intakes. This difficult decision was made in the best interest of the animals already in the shelter's care, and to avoid unnecessary euthanasia.

Arlington Animal Services strongly encourages exploring alternative rehoming options. Details and resources inside: ⬇️

Arlington Animal Services will keep the community updated on shelter capacity and resume acceptance of owner-surrendered pets once shelter capacity dips below critical levels.
