The CVPA hosted the third annual Fanfare Piano Festival this weekend!

Piano students from the CVPA, as well as Jones, Corey, Gunn, and Arlington High Fine Arts Dual Language Academies played for professional judges, and received feedback and scores. Over 100 students participated!

These 40 standout performers were invited back to play for the honor concert.

It was a beautiful day of music and community!

Update: Here are the times for each grade level that schools will open their doors:

Elementary - doors open at 7:25 (school starts at 8:10)
Junior High - doors open at 8:00 (school starts at 8:45)
High School - doors open at 6:50 (school starts at 7:35)

Arlington ISD is planning to have school tomorrow. Each school will be open 45 minutes ahead of their scheduled opening so students can enter early.

We'll continue to monitor the weather and let you know if anything changes.

IMAGINE YOUR POTENTIAL…

CVPA Art IV students received a private tour of the art inside AT&T Stadium. This is the last leg of a collaboration between AISD and the Dallas Cowboys, facilitated by AISD Assistant Director of Fine Arts Linh Nguyen.

Art students in grades 5, 8, and Art IV seniors tour the stadium, then create an art piece that will be displayed for an exhibition at the stadium in May. Art IV seniors will also have the opportunity to apply for nearly $15,000 in scholarships given by Whataburger and the Cowboys!

The Art IV students at the CVPA were recently honored by the Dallas Cowboys with an art exhibition at AT&T Stadium and on the field pre-game recognition!

Arlington ISD Visual Arts has a long standing relationship with the Cowboys. They provide student tours for all AISD students, art exhibitions, and sponsor a senior scholarship! Special thanks to Linh Nguyen, Asst. Director of Fine Arts for cultivating this relationship.

Advanced piano students from the CVPA recently toured Bass Hall, Steinway Hall, and the Cliburn Foundation. Students saw behind the scenes areas and learned about music in the professional setting.

🎇 Ideas can change the world. And our students have lots of great ones. That’s why Arlington ISD is proud to partner with the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce for the 19th annual “What’s Your Big Idea?” Entrepreneurship Contest.

The contest includes elementary, junior high and high school participants. First-, second- and third-place winners receive scholarships to attend the exclusive one-week “The BIG Idea Lab” Summer Camp where students will learn what it really means to be an entrepreneur.
