Phillip Franklin sets a new MPH record in Pro Street Class and is also crowned both World & National Champion at the Texas Motorplex!
Franklin set both ET and MPH records during qualifying. He ran 4.89et at 153.42mph but per NHRDA rules, all records must be backed up within 1% to make it a new official record. Final round, Franklin had a good launch but ended up peddling the truck at half track and then got back into it running 5.79et at 145.67mph.
So, the 153.42mph ended up being the backup for the 145.67mph, and we are pretty sure that record will only last over the winter. We predict Franklin will set both new ET and MPH next year at the season opener.
Congratulations to Phillip Franklin and his truck Opie!

Robby Bowermaster is crowned both NHRDA World & National points Champion in the ARP - Super Diesel Class.
Robby Bowermaster led Lane Wright by 10 points as we headed to Texas for the World Finals. Both competitors had their A game on during qualifying and as we moved into the elimination rounds both competitors were running right on the 7.70 dial time.
In the Final round it was Bowermaster with a .131 reaction to Wright's .155 reaction and that proved to be the winning factor.
Congratulations to Robby Bowermaster and A-Star Diesel
Matthew Parker is your 2024 NHRDA World Champion in the 6.70 Index Class!
Parker won earlier this year at the Texas Diesel Nationals, and after the qualifying rounds were over, he was sitting in the #2 position. Joshua Grahmann was our #1 qualifier, and they both worked their way through the eliminations it became apparent the final stage was set to be the #1 versus #2 in the finals.
Parker had a great reaction time of .051, and he never looked back it was a hole-shot win!
Congratulations to Matthew Parker!
Rick Fletes is crowned NHRDA Super Street World & National Champion at the Texas Motorplex.
All year long it has been a points battle between Deon Taylor and Rick Fletes in the Super Street category. Heading into the eliminations, Taylor was leading Fletes by 10 points, and after qualifying, Taylor was in the #1 spot, and Fletes was in the #7 spot. Which meant they were on opposite sides of the ladder, and if all went good they would see each other in the finals.
In the finals, Fletes decided to take the right lane at the last minute as he had lane choice, and not sure if that rattled Deon a little bit or not. Rick cut the better light and ran 6.07et to Taylor's 6.08et, giving him the win and also giving him enough points to take home both the World & National Championships.
Congratulations to Rick Fletes and Team!

Rickie Fenwick doubles down at the NHRDA World Finals to become World & National Champion in the Big Rig Bracket Class!
Fenwick led the points chase in the Big Rig Bracket class as we headed to the Texas Motorplex for the World Finals. Rickie set his dial time at 14.40et for the whole day and it proved to be the winning combination throughout the elimination rounds.
In the final round, it was Fenwick in the right lane and his good buddy Caleb Eilers in the left lane I am not sure if the pressure got to Eilers, but he red light and handed the win to Fenwick.
Congratulations to Rickie Fenwick!

Robin Ridgway is the defending World & National Champion in the NHRDA Sportsman Class.
As Ridgway made the long drive from Indiana to Texas, she was sitting in the #3 position points and knew she would have to put her A game on if she was going to make a run for the championship.
Lane Wright and Robby Bowermaster were both ahead of Robin in the points chase and were both going to be attending the World Finals, and it appeared mathematically that Ridgway did not have a very good chance of defending her 2023 Titles.
Ridgway ended up meeting Bowermaster in the quarter-finals, and she took him out, and Wright went out in the 1st round, so now the National championship was actually starting to be a possibility.
Heading into the Final round, it was Ridgway up against Matthew Mansker from Terrell, Texas. Robin dialed in 10.19et and Mansker dialed in 7.40et. Ridgway had a great reaction time of 060 light, and she never looked back as she took the Win and became the 2024 World Champion. Plus it also gave her enough points to secure her 2nd National Championship in the Sportsman Class.
Congratulations to Robin and Team Tony!
