We had two excellent performances today for our second-grade friends at George Mason Elementary! Rough Faced Girl is a great show for that age group (since the book is taught in most schools in our area!) but is also totally appropriate for young children, while still being very touching and poignant for the adults in our audience too.

We're getting ready for another weekend of performances! Check out this wonderful review in the Washington Examiner. "Why Rough-Faced Girl? Words often limit the imagination, especially for children, because words have concrete meanings. But once you learn the Synetic language of physical storytelling, blended with music, mime, acrobatics and dance, you understand how to communicate without words."

Synetic Theater's latest children's show is an adaptation of an American Indian tale called "The Rough-Faced Girl." Although the story exists in many tribes, adapter and director Elena Velasco chose the version used by the Micmaq Tribe of Canada and northern Maine.
