Camp Sidney Dew has had zombie outbreaks most winters for many years. The Virus that is believed to be responsible for the Zombies is called the B-Preparightious virus. It is believed the virus lies dormant under certain types of rocks (a good reason not to disturb the rocks in camp). This virus attacks anyone who has direct contact with an infected surface. In early 2006, Camp officials formed an

elite organization called the Zombie Outbreak Response Team (also known as Z.O.R.T.).This team is responsible for ending any outbreaks and gathering information about the virus. ranks must be refilled from time to time with recruitment event drives. Zombie O is one of those drives to replenish the ranks to continue the noble work, which has been so successful during the past at Camp Sidney Dew. The Year of 2020 has seen significant change in the virus’s conduct in reacting with humans in general. In the past boy scout recon units were deployed in such a manner as to minimize exposure, but with predicted future patterns coupled with the changes in the virus itself, minimal exposure will be extremely difficult to execute. Each patrol will have direct exposure to Zombies. We will need full natural Scout BSA patrols to assist and conquer the next major outbreak predicted for November 6, 7, and 8, 2020. Zombie O 2020 at CSD is a weekend event open to registered Scouts BSA members of the BSA. Registration is available online through the NWGA council website - www.nwgabsa.org.

Scout Ops UFO at CSD 2022
An Exciting Scout BSA patrol based event at Camp Sidney Dew.
This event is a Patrol Method based event. This year’s event has a heightened sense of direct action in resolving a potentially menacing unknown security threat. The term UFO, or unidentified flying object, has recently been rebranded by the US government and other agencies worldwide as UAP or Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon. Along with this rebranding of names many entities have not only admitted to the existence of something that is not identifiable in our world, but have also presented video and additional data to prove the existence of said UFOs. Scout OPS UFO is not just unexplained things all over camp and scouts running around, it is orienteering, decision making, teamwork, and basic scout skills embedded into an intense program
which is organized to shed light on these phenomena.

The Patrol Method, compass, survival training, cooperation techniques and Scout skills have been incorporated into a unique physical world competition.
