The “Big Dig” is complete!

Thanks to some good help (Ruth), we got 21 crates of tubers unearthed.
Now to let dry and divide. Some will be available soon!

So I’ve had several people ask me what I’m going to do now that the flowers are done. I have to chuckle because now I’m starting over! Out with the old and in with the new.

Dahlias have to be labeled, cut back, dug up, divided, and stored before the ground freezes.
Then over 1700 tulips bulbs get planted along with daffodils, and lilies.
The gladiolus need dug up and stored and I have to plant the new cool season seedlings.
I’d say it’s going to be busy for a while yet!

I have a change of plans and won’t be needing as many Asiatic Lily’s, so I’m offering up the extras. These are good sized and a mix of different colors. I’m offering 10 bulbs for $20.

So after going through the flowers this morning, I have decided I’m not going to have enough to go to farmers market this Saturday.

I can not express how grateful and blessed I feel with the huge amount of support I’ve received for my crazy little flower business!

Well Mr. Frost passed through early this morning and possibly took all the flowers.
It’s hard to tell yet in the tunnel but the flower heads were frozen and some leaves. I’ll know more later today.
If that’s the end of the flowers, then I’ll have limited supply this week and farmers market will be questionable.

Looking forward though, I’ll have over 1500 tulip bulbs to plant, dahlia tubers to dig up, divide, and store, and prepping beds for seedlings for next year!

Good news, bad news…

Bad news- The zinnias, cosmos, basil, and the outside dahlias are toast

Good news- The tunnel flowers are alive and well!

So I should still be in the fresh flower business and make the North Platte market next week!!

Ended the Sip n Snip season with a bunch ladies and some up and coming flower enthusiasts!

There’s so many dahlias in bloom right now.
