We’ll have local tulips available again this Valentine’s Day through the !

We like to keep it very local, so we pair tulips from local farms with our homegrown dried flowers and twigs.

Tulips, along with a few other flowering bulbs, are the only flowers that grow Colorado this time of year. Local flower farms put in a lot effort to grow these beauties indoors so we can have local flowers when it’s still very frigid outside.

The “tons of texture” is a design we’ve had for years. It is our more masculine arrangement - focused on textures over colors.

It contains many different seedheads in all sorts of shapes and sizes with a pop of yellow yarrow. Yarrow represents strength - its Latin name is Achillea, named for Achilles of Ancient Greece. He used yarrow to treat soldiers wounds on the battlefield.

Dried flowers can have so much variety! They’re not just your grandma’s flowers anymore. And the best part is they last much longer than fresh flowers. If kept out of direct sunlight, they can truly last forever ❤️

In order to be completely with the seasons, we only offer dried flowers this time of year. No need to ship flowers from all over the world, we dry our homegrown flowers all season long to enjoy them when there are no local fresh flowers around!

Welcome to Down Home Flowers!

We thought we’d take a moment to introduce ourselves. We are a small, family-owned flower farm and shop in Arvada, CO. We grow 95% of what we use to create.

Steph is in charge of all things design. She has an eclectic mix of experience over the last 13 years, from established flower farms to brick-and-mortar shops. She chooses each variety we grow, each vase we up-cycle and utilizes the garden as inspiration to guide her in her designs. She’s also the ultimate farmhand and is not afraid to get her hands dirty!

Dylan plays many roles. He is the man behind the phone, taking your calls and answering all the questions. He is a delivery driver extraordinaire and always finds his destination. He is crucial to our growing operations and digs the best hole this side of the Mississippi!

Kai (the little guy) helps out where he can! He runs quality control on our dirt by constantly rolling around in it. He’s also compost manager, which usually means he just spreads it all over the floor. 😆

We love when the material speaks for itself. We make natural curly willow frames and let the willow decide how it wants to come together! Curly willow has a mind of its own (#iykyk), why not work with it! This gives us unique shapes instead of the classic circle.
