**Food for Thought**

Often, when I speak with parents of young adults, I hear a tone of uncertainty and, at times, disappointment. They’re unsure of what the future holds for their children and how they’ll navigate today’s world. Many worry that the challenges of this generation—especially with the influence of the internet—are vastly different from those they faced growing up.

As some of you may know, I started my journey as an education major, spending much of my teenage and college years working with children. My career then led me into banking, and now into the culinary world. Throughout it all, I’ve always viewed children and young adults as equals. In fact, I often look up to them, admiring their growing minds, filled with curiosity and wonder.

I want to offer some reassurance to parents of young adults today as they transition into adulthood. They’re going to be just fine—more than fine, actually. This summer, I had the pleasure of working with many young men and women, and I was filled with pride and excitement to see their enthusiasm, motivation, and drive to work.

I work with people across a wide range of age groups, but I find myself more and more drawn to the younger generation. They are eager to learn, quick to take direction, and bring a refreshing energy to everything they do. There have been times as a business owner when I found myself in difficult situations, and I could always count on these young adults to step up. Their quick thinking and access to a wealth of knowledge through technology have been invaluable.

I’m deeply grateful for our youth, and I’ll continue to support and help them as they grow. If you’re a business owner, I highly recommend giving young adults a chance—you might be pleasantly surprised by what they can do.
