Nature is so important to my dear friends Mary and Brian. So even when the weather did not want to work with us, we flowered our little hearts out in the pouring rain to make this arch happen for for our girl We trusted that everything would work out and sure enough the rain cleared in time for a beautiful ceremony at dusk. This job is all the sweeter to be able to do it with these incredible friends.

I’ve shifted in to relaxation mode as the year is coming to an end and of course with that comes reflection. It’s been a whirlwind of a year for me and I haven’t shared anywhere near as much of it as I’d like to here. For the last year and a half I’ve been freelancing full time for some incredible people and that’s what I’d like to focus this account on for the foreseeable future. Starting with this wedding I was lucky to be a part of in Norfolk, Virginia with and so many great friends. Snow came in late Friday night and blanketed everything. It was pure magic and I’ll never forget it.

Selecting flowers for this shoot was the first time I was able to choose just based on the fashion involved and oh my goodness was I inspired by this gown. It’s breathtaking in person. I wanted to keep the Hydrangeas from the original headpiece, but paired down to match the subtlety of this more delicate gown. So they became body art! I love how the blue and blush tones in the petals compliment “Luna” by .

Sea Nymph, but make it fashion.

I added to this headpiece over the week as we explored La Push and the Hoh Rainforest. It’s a mix of moss, sea grass, lichen, and mystery pieces. I’m always inspired by nature and I want my design to reflect that, but the beauty of Washington was on a whole other level and truly magnificent. The entire time I spent thinking about who I would return with one day, and where I’d take them first.
