The second Small Business Info Session will be held on Thursday, October 17, from 10am to 11:30am at Mojo Coworking. The session will focus on essential guidance for local businesses reopening after water restoration and will also address what businesses can do if they are still without water.

This session will feature representatives from Buncombe County, City of Asheville, and the Asheville Fire Department, who will provide valuable insights on health and safety standards, reopening procedures, and available support. Additionally, local organizations working to reactivate Downtown streets and bring customers back to businesses will share their efforts to drive foot traffic and support the local economy.

As part of the WNC community, we at Mojo Coworking are both humbled and proud to contribute to Helene relief efforts across Buncombe County and Western NC organized by and Western Carolina Emergency Network a 501c3. Thanks to an amazing discount from Paris Ace Hardware Gulf Shores for the STIHL gear, we secured around $20,000 worth of chainsaws for $12,000! The availability was crucial, as chainsaws have been tough to find in the area. 🌲🪚

The chainsaws are now in the hands of dedicated local crews, coordinated by V&V Land Management and Resource Recovery LLC who’s working tirelessly to clear roads and restore safety in our communities. Frank Vogel is leading several chain crews, providing essential equipment, and even cutting himself.

This is a small part of the huge effort underway, but we’re here to help in every way we can. To all the crews out there—thank you. We see you, and we’re right here with you. 💚

Mojo is OPEN with Power and Internet and Bathrooms

Dear Asheville,
We hope you & your families are safe and coping with the significant ongoing challenges from this horrific disaster. We'd like to provide an update on how we will be supporting Mojo members and our Asheville community in the weeks ahead.

We are OPEN for normal business hours and operations.

Power ON: Has been on the last couple of weeks without interruption.

Internet ON: AT&T fiber internet is on. Starlink has also been installed so we have additional internet capacity and backup internet should any future challenges arise with our main AT&T connection.

Cell Coverage ON: The temporary cell tower at 35 Woodfin Street has been providing consistent cellular coverage for the last week.

Bathrooms OPEN: Water service is on and we have flushing toilets.

Mail & Packages: We are an essential services business and are receiving USPS, FedEx and UPS.

Additional services:

Coffee. We are providing complimentary coffee service.
Food/Meals. Several locations are within walking distance from Mojo (Mellow Mushroom, Sparkys Bodega, Bears Smokehouse, etc..).
Drinking water. Water stations are offline but we have potable water available.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU

Drinking water. Please bring some with you since we are focused on managing the supply of non-potable water for the toilets

Coffee Mugs and disposable products for your meals.

LOVE! As leaders in our community, we are committed to keeping the spirit of Asheville invigorated.

We are committed to being a beacon of support during this difficult time and be here for our community. Mojo is a place to connect, collaborate, and find support. We are blessed to have suffered no damages to our location, and we have the resources to provide additional services for those in need.

Today we mourn the loss of a dear friend, a stalwart companion, and a tireless purveyor of caffeine: our Bunn VPR coffee maker. For more than 12 years, this unassuming machine has been the heart and soul of Mojo Coworking, fueling the dreams and ambitions of countless entrepreneurs, freelancers, small businesses and remote workers.

Let us remember the countless cups of (Mo)Joe that have been brewed within her stainless steel belly. From the early morning rush of eager caffeine seekers to the late-night cram sessions of determined deadline warriors, she has always been there, a constant source of warmth, comfort, and, most importantly, liquid courage.

Her relationship with Dynamite Roasting Sumatra Mandheling coffee was a match made in caffeine heaven. Together, they have created countless moments of pure bliss, fueling the creative minds and weary bodies of those who have passed through Mojo’s doors.

Though her vessel may have finally given out, her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who have been touched by her warmth. Let us raise a cup of coffee in her honor, and may her memory be a constant reminder of the power of a good brew and the importance of a reliable coffee maker.

Rest in peace, dear Bunn VPR. You will be missed.
