We'll have wiiiide open decks from 7-11ish and then got a few late-night sets lined up from some super secret all-stars! 🌟

Hands on workshop/skill-share on circuit bending kids toys that will teach you the basics of pitch bending just about any functional half way decent electronic kids toy..

We will also cover and go over and into the background of the circuits and what parts you can use for projects, and under what conditions you would like to execute your bending.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! ATTENTION!

The Æthereal Ablyss is opening up a Gallery/Studio/Consignment Space in a NEW LOCATION and looking for interest in various avenues!
Set to have its grand opening the first week in December--with some exciting recurring events lined up through out the winter and some workshops and community engagement days to announce shortly as well.
[ WE ARE LOOKING FOR CREATIVE VENDORS ALONG WITH MUSICIANS & DJ'S TO FEATURE IN SOME UP-AN-COMING RECURING WEEKEND DAYTIME MARKETS / BROADCASTS! ]

These past couple of weeks have been chaotic to say the least, situations have led us to temporarily rebrand/relocate the Æ Ablyss for the time being.. Ultimately, our goal was to find an affordable, utilizable space to be able to pursue our goals of hosting workshops, skill-shares, various left field events, and more; while providing a safe, creative outlet for us and our friends in interesting and exciting ways. As well somewhere to ride out the winter together while insulating ideas and actively co-creating communal bonds!
After researching numerous options, the signs started pointing to one often-overlooked option with lots of potential:

A Commercial Space @ Smileys Flea Market!

This new space also provides ample opportunities, and approaches to involve our community in some fun and engaging ways! In addition to workshops, skill-trades, communal activities, etc, we are also now able to offer consignment retail space to any of our creative friends with art/wares to sell! (Permanent or Daily Set-ups); along with dance/flow-share space bookings..

With a weekly scheduled creative market with music, refreshments, and interactive activities - fun for people of all ages!

Well folx, we tried.. Sadly, we regret to inform you that our upcoming Halloween party is being forced to cancel, due to lack of venue space. Our warehouse was hit with an "official" noise complaint letter from the city a couple weeks after our last event and we've been scrambling ever since to find a new location for this event, to no avail. After exploring every possible option, it became clear that we are not alone with this noise ordinance crack-down. MANY other local businesses/underground event spaces have also been recently harassed and threatened by the city for not complying with the ever-tightening noise restrictions that are slowly, but surely destroying the underground electronic music scene in Asheville. Even where events have been allowed to happen near the downtown area, they are still shut down by midnight even on weekends! We are disappointed, and frankly, rather outraged by the increased level of difficulty in trying to nurture Asheville's late-night underground art & music scene. It really should not be *this* hard.. :\

That being said, we are not giving up! Even though this particular event can not go down as planned at this time, the Æthereal Ablyss plans to persevere and adapt. In lieu of a proper party, we've decided to bring a "theme camp" to the Surreal Sirkus Sideshow on the 29th at Pack Square (link in comments)! Come find us and play with us in our interactive mini Ablyss! :D

Beyond this weekend, we intend to proceed with our original plans of evolving our space to host workshops, art/movement skillshares, community engagement events, and more while also continuing the search for viable event spaces. This is where we need YOU! If you have skills to share, ideas for workshops or a lead on a venue, please reach out! We will also be launching a Patreon within the week to help us continue to raise funds in an alternative way until we're able to throw full-scale events once more. As always, it takes a village! We thank you for your continued support and understanding with this unfortunate situation and will be providing refunds for pre-purchased tickets within 48 hours.
