I wrote this track after seeing the mass destruction left behind after hurricane Helene ravished my community. Music has always been a safe place and refuge during troubled times in my life. Not only did I get to play in Boston for the first time this past weekend but I squeezed in as much touristy stuff as I could! It was an absolutely magical weekend.

Taxco Mexican Restaurants are taking donations for those affected by the massive flooding in WNC. If you would like to contribute please see the locations listed on the flyer. Friday morning and I will be delivering all donated items to Meadowbrook Church in Black Mountain which serves the Swannanoa Valley and has been set up as a distribution point.

Last night I met up with some friends for dinner at a local watering hole. As we were eating I spotted a guy sitting at a table with three ladies. The guy was probably in his sixties but don’t let the age fool ya I could tell he hits the gym, he was a big dude. He had a big white beard and bald head. He was wearing barbell earrings, beading bracelets, a pair of cool shades. Kinda hippie, kinda hood. He was just a vibe. As I was leaving I couldn’t help myself so I approached him and said, “Excuse me sir, I just wanted to tell you you’re the coolest dude in this place.” Without saying anything he stood up and I didn’t know what was about to happen. Then he looked at me and said come here and gave me the biggest hug. The ladies at his table were giggling as he lit up and bear hugged me. He then said he had something for me, reached into his pocket, and gave me this sticker. A sticker with his face one it! I failed to get his name or contact info and maybe that’s the way it was supposed to be idk. But if anyone knows this character please tell him thank you for restoring my hope in humanity a bit. This was the most wholesome interaction outside of a music festival I’ve ever had. So, Papa G***a, if you ever see this thank you and keep on being the coolest dude in the place.
