To those in need in the Candler area, the Homeward Bound of WNC outreach team will be at the library today from 10 AM- 1 PM. (Tuesday, December 17)

They will be providing information on homelessness resources plus cold weather and camping supplies, including sleeping bags, coats, tents, hats, gloves, warm socks, toiletries, and more.

Please spread the word to those who may need it!

Homeward Bound will be hosting additional supply popup days at the library once a month. They'll be back January 21.

Buncombe County would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of our Community Care Station workers. We’ve seen your unwavering efforts, and we deeply appreciate the dedication and compassion you bring to our community. Your hard work has led to nearly 100,000 cases helped, over 200,000 gallons of potable water, and 84,000 gallons of non-potable water distributed as of 11/18. Additionally, you've provided more than 29,177 showers and 25,850 loads of laundry.

As we move forward, we want to update you on the status of water distribution sites and community care stations. At the end of the day today, Dec. 2, some water distribution sites and community care stations in both the City and County will close. However, the four Community Care Stations in the most impacted communities will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

These locations will continue to provide crucial services including showers, laundry, charging, food, WiFi, and water:

Asheville: Bethel United Methodist, 1050 Riceville Road
Fairview Ingles: 225 Charlotte Hwy
Swannanoa: Owen Pool, 117 Stone Dr, Swannanoa, NC 28778
Weaverville: Morgan Hill Baptist Church, 594 Barnardsville Highway
