Rejoice, for Rosti has returned to TOUCH Samadhi with seven journeys through the mind’s eye that defy genre expectations and bridge the past with the future.

Track Descriptions:
“Joseph on the Air” starts with a mysterious cinematic atmosphere, choppy vocals, and breakbeats (!) before flipping itself over a bouncing oompah bass that leads to a textured but deep finale full of anticipation, setting the course for our listening experience.

“Paradigm shift” ridse a high-intensity bassline through a shifting maze of mirrors, and “Random Trigger” follows with highly tactile atmospheres, both evoking early 2000s-era Twisted Records psytrance and its balance of creative exploration with dancefloor power.

“Rubber Band Stars” changes direction with throaty MS20 riffs and Goa Trance vibes, a story continued with the hyperdrive bop of “Space Lullaby.”

The penultimate track, “The Abyss,” is an anxious dive among cyborg leviathans that might be the album’s most intense experience. In classic style, however, the album ends with a downtempo experience - this one driven by a slow breakbeat and an enormous sense of space populated by disembodied voices.

Simultaneously a classic Goa album and a forward-thinking defiance of trance-as-usual, “Random Trigger” demonstrates a range and versatility that deserves to be appreciated both in comfortable at-home listening and on chest-rattling soundsystems.

AOUGHT, the drum & bass alter-ego of psytrance producer Kri Samadhi, here presents his collection of scenes of cyberpunk dystopia.

~ “Soulphane” is a lurking, mournful mass of sludgy bass, mournful atmospheres, and shifting rhythms.

~ “Break the frame” picks up with sinister minimal beats and a snarling bassline that support ice-cold pads.

~ The title track, “Crumbs” introduces cinematic vocal and string ambience and a low end that marches endlessly forward, whereas “Saiko” detours into glitched-out paranoia and distorted 808 bass.

~ “Files” evokes the deadly hacker drama of 1990s cyberpunk fiction, with clashing beats and spacy old-school leads.

~ “The Great Dying” may be the album’s darkest track, with bleak droning atmospheres, lo-fi drums, and an absolutely hostile bassline.

Come by anytime they are open, which is Tuesday through Saturday from 11 to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The Well is located at 3 Louisiana Avenue. Next to the Ingles on Haywood Rd, with the big mural (behind Twice Round).

Details: “Scott is in need of help from his community. He asked me to reach out to you guys, because he needs our help financially. Also, some trades might be helpful too if you can help with anything around his home while he is healing.

Scott has been apart of the Asheville community for 24 years, and he has done so, so much for the community. Scott has worked his body to the bone, literally. He needs a total knee replacement. Not only is the procedure expensive, he also needs help with living costs while he is healing for 12 weeks. He also will need to do a couple renovations around his home prior to the procedure, like raising the toilet and installing grab rails. If you know Scott like I do, you know he has never asked for anything from anyone and has always helped the people around him. Now he needs our help.

One other pretty big cost will be putting his dogs in doggy daycare, because he simply cant risk messing his knee up during the first couple weeks of recovery. And finally, he will need financial help with his copays for physical therapy and Uber rides to the physical therapy. He has some social security coming in, but it’s not even enough to cover his groceries.

Other ways you can help if you can’t afford to donate would be:

Going to 12 baskets and other resources around Asheville to get free food (you can drop it at Vintage Kava or bring it directly to him at his home), cleaning help, help with some carpentry around the home, and other miscellaneous tasks.

Our main goal right now is getting his home cleaned up and feeling good for him and raising money for his procedure and living costs.”
