Altimeter Cabin & Event Venue

You may not know it when you first walk into my log cabin in the forest, but there’s history in the polished timber beams and gleaming hardwood floors. For decades, mountain guides who climbed to the snow-capped summits of Rainier once called this cabin home.

In 2007 I fell in love with this cabin and the autumnal light as it filtered through 300 year old cedar trees and the mountain sky. The moment I first laid eyes on the place I knew the house had an undeniable personality of its’ own.

It’s been my pleasure to welcome visitors to Altimeter Cabin for their Mount Rainier vacations ever since. I’m proud of the way I’ve been able to develop the property over the years. It all started with a cabin Now we have a covered pavilion with a gorgeous handcrafted live edge, an outdoor dance floor with market lights, a cedar bathhouse, and campsites.

Now I have the honor of welcoming not only overnight visitors who want a quiet getaway, but we can also accommodate elopement ceremonies, small weddings, retreats, and groups. It’s a privilege to be part of someone’s special events. And it is truly rewarding to share this place I love so much with others who also appreciate and respect the beauty of the natural landscape.
