Hey Friends!!
Remember the couple who won our Wedding giveaway?!?
We wanted to get to know them better, so we asked them each to share their own version of their love story!

KALEY:
Basically met in 2010 in high school and went to a school dance together. We dated for maybe a week and Dakota pulls out the “I love you” card too soon and it freaked me out. 🤣🤣🤣

Fast forward to 2018 and we rekindled our friendship. We both were going through rough patch and it was nice to have someone that understands. Shortly after that, we realized the feelings were still there and we were older now. So we decided to give it another try. Along the way we moved in together, watched each other succeed in our careers, got engaged in 2022 and gained two sons a long the way. With our last son, we actually had a venue booked and wedding planned and I ended up pregnant by surprise with him. So we decided to do the responsible thing and cancel it all. Yes, our hearts broke to do that, but it was the right thing at that time.

After that, we just kinda gave up for awhile because our youngest has been going to a lot of therapy sessions and a lot of doctor appointments. Plus living in the world we do today while raising kids and taking care of your own life, spending all of that money on a wedding was the last thing we were thinking about or could afford, so our wedding and making it finally “official” got put on hold.

Hello! My name is Alexa Kamenik.

I am excited to work alongside Christian Durbin to bring new life to the venue. I earned a degree in Business Management from North Central State College in 2016. My husband, Robert, and I live on a farm with two children. I enjoy vacationing to warm places, raising farm animals, going on dinner dates with Robert, listening to music, and spending time with friends.

I own and operate my own real estate company, ARK Realty, which is based in Crawford County. I opened the business in the fall of 2016. With a servant’s heart, I love to help others! You can often find me volunteering at various places, including my children’s school, church events, and local organizations. I actively sponsor many local initiatives in Crawford County and focus on giving back to the community through my real estate business.

A fun fact about me: Robert and I had the very first wedding at this location back in 2015, before it was even transformed into a venue! Our wedding inspired the idea of turning this space into a wedding and event center, and here we are, nearly ten years later, welcoming countless other couples to celebrate their special day in this beautiful space!

Hello! My name is Christian Durbin.

I am thrilled about the opportunity to work with Alexa and contribute to this wonderful venue! I proudly serve in the Ohio National Guard and hold a double major in Marketing and Management from Ashland University.

Family is incredibly important to me, and I am actively involved in the lives of my three nephews and five nieces. My passions include self-improvement, music, furthering my education, and building meaningful relationships. Throughout my life, I have worked at over 200 weddings, gaining experience in everything from event planning to serving.

My goal is to make your special day truly exceptional. There is nothing more rewarding to me than being part of this beautiful process!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

We are very thankful for the love, hard work and dedication that Jarrod and Sarah have put into the venue over the past 3 years. We appreciate them and all they have done to get the venue where it is today.

We are thankful for the opportunity to bring new life to the venue and continue to develop ideas and improve the space for future clients.

To all of our amazing clients, we have some bittersweet news to share.

While Jarrod and I are grateful to the Kamenik family for the opportunity to grow Tall Tines, we have decided to take a step back. This decision does not come lightly. While it has been an absolutely incredible 3 years, we are realizing how quickly time is passing and we are focusing on spending quality time as a family.

The last 3 years we have spent every Mothers day , Father’s Day , anniversary , nights and weekends of the spring/summer/fall at this beautiful facility . We have leveled the barn, taken down walls, built a bar, poured concrete countertops , added bathrooms, and created beautiful hand built chandeliers etc. Jarrod and I have put a great amount of love and hard work into Tall Tines.

By far the greatest treasure we have received along the way is our amazing clients and vendors. We have made life long friends and that we will cherish forever. Thank you.

The great news is the event center will continue , and we are confident you are in great hands with Christian Durbin and the Kamenik family.

If you have booked with us for the 2025 season , your booking will continue as planned. Christian and the Kamenik family have a great plan for the future of the event center and we are excited to see their success.
