WHAT IS THE RIPPLE OF LOVE EXPERIENCE?
Ripple of Love is a mini festival/rave that values kindness, consent, fun, and acceptance of each other’s differences. Beyond being an amazing dance party with incredible producers and DJs, we have blacklights, body painters, craft tables, Kandi tables, and a Kosmic Konnections game.
Every event features a special activation from Kosmic Lovers, Stara, and Andre Fox at 11:11. We breathe together, OM, and receive an activation from Stara Being. This is where we all connect and send ripples of love out into all of existence.
IS ROL A POLY PARTY?
ROL accepts everyone, including poly, LGBTQ, straight, monogamous, aliens, creatures—all are welcome. Our events are based on kindness and consent. We identify as a place for everyone to feel safe to be fully who they are in that moment.
IF I AM NOT POLY/MONOGAMOUS/STRAIGHT/LGBTQ, ETC., WILL I FEEL COMFORTABLE?
Yes, Stara and Andre are monogamous, along with many other festival-goers. We are a mix of human consciousness who come together under our shared values to create awesome moments and send out ripples of love. Our events are based on kindness and consent, and so far, everyone has honored these values, making people feel fully safe at our events.
WHAT IS CONSENT?
Consent is asking, “May I dance with you?” “May I hug you?” “May I touch you?” Would you be open to having a conversation with me, being OK if someone says no, not making it personal, and knowing what you are looking for is looking for you—no need to manipulate or force someone or something.
HOW DO YOU PICK YOUR DJS AND ARTISTS?
We look for energy that aligns with our values along with talent. We don’t book divas, and if we accidentally do, we don’t book them again. This is a co-created experience, and we like to work with people who are drama-free and can make it happen with us.
HOW DO I GET BOOKED AS AN ARTIST?
We like to book artists who actively engage with our community, attend our events, even when not booked because they love and believe in them. To get booked, first, check out our events, connect with what we do. If it inspires you and you feel aligned, reach out through our contact form on our website rippleoflove.org. Tell us about your experience, how you feel connected to what we are doing, and send a sample of your work.
We do have many DJs in our queue on a waiting list, but we do our best to work everyone in who shows up to the events, has a certain mastery over their art, and feels connected to what is being created.
WHAT IS THE KOSMIC KONNECTIONS GAME?
The Kosmic Konnections Game is an interactive game festival-goers have the option to play to get to know other event-goers.
DO YOU HAVE TO PLAY THE KOSMIC KONNECTIONS GAME?
No, and if you are not playing it, you may not even notice others who are playing it.
WHAT IS A SLIDING SCALE?
We accept everyone, so we are all in different walks of life. Financially speaking, we want everyone who vibes with our values to be able to come. So we make a sliding scale so people can pay what they can to support the event. So far, it has worked well, and we have been able to pay everyone and keep going. We ask to pay what feels good to support the event.
CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT THE KOSMIC KONNECTIONS GAME?
The Kosmic Konnections Game is a mingling game channeled by Stara to help us all get to know each other better as friends and also pull in people’s Divine Unions.
Every player will fill out a pre-reg form.
On the form, you can say if you are looking for a romantic partner, lover, or if you just want to get to know people and make new friends.
Once you fill out the pre-registration form, you will be given a number to wear.
Your form will be placed in a book that others can look through. So if you see someone with a number that you are curious about, you can go to the book and see what they are about.
If you want to get to know them better, you can ask them if they would like to do a speed date or a get-to-know-you game.
If they say yes, then you both can come to the game table, and there are many different games and ways for you to get to know each other that can end in 5 minutes or go on if you both want.
CAN I LOOK IN THE BOOK IF I AM NOT PLAYING THE GAME?
No, in order to take a look at the other players in the book, you must be signed up for the game.
What if I am playing the game and someone comes up to me, and I don’t want to do a speed date or get-to-know-you game at that moment?
You simply say no thank you.
DOES THE GAME COST EXTRA?
Currently, the game is included with your ticket. It will stay this way as long as our sliding scale keeps working, and people genuinely pay what they can to support the event happening.
WHAT IS A KANDI TABLE?
It’s a table where you can make rave/friendship bracelets that you can trade or PLUR with people you connect with at the events. There is a special way to trade these bracelets. People will teach you if you haven’t done it yet. You can use PLUR, peace, love, unity, respect. You can also use ROL Kindness, consent, fun, and acceptance of each other’s differences.
WHY DO WE BREATHE AND OM TOGETHER?
In a world of chaos, we breathe and OM together to send ripples of love out into the world. The way for humanity to move forward is to work together to create an awesome world together. We are seeding this.
