Feeling competitive?! Grab a partner and join us on August 18th from 1-3:30 for our first puzzle competition! Teams of two will get their fingers flying to see who can assemble an adorable 500 piece Patisserie themed jigsaw puzzle first! 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, everyone gets to keep their puzzle, and snacks and rinks provided! It’s an Atelier Movie night! August 9th from 6:00-7:30 you can shop the mercantile at an exclusive ticket holder discount, then head up to the Atelier to pick your seat and grab some snacks before the movie (a personal favorite of mine) begins at 8:00! So call your friends and book your seats, it’s going to be a cozy Tuscany themed evening ☺️

Our pretty Atelier is nearing completion. Still need to stain the tables, apply the backsplash, a shelf or two, the brass pot rack for copper pots, plus a sprinkle of final touches, but then yes. Complete. Should be done by end of next week…yes. Let’s go with that :) I think I’m most excited to slowly collect old art over time to decorate the walls ☺️ Anyways, keep your eyes open for upcoming workshops, and if you’re in need of a space for your own private gathering, email us!

RAIN CHECK!
Well folks, we might be dealing with more storms this afternoon, and unfortunately, they are scheduled to start in the middle of our much anticipated Nebraska wildflower painting class today 😩 So, for now we are going to postpone the class and we will come up with an alternate date within the next 48 hours. Once we choose a new date, all of you who have signed up for this class will be notified to see if that works! Everyone, stay safe (again) today, and you will hear from us soon on the rescheduled date!

Little by little, the atelier kitchen is coming together! Our beautiful range is on its way, the vintage style chrome faucet for our very old sink (formerly of ) is ready to install, and I think I have my mind made up on some lovely imperfectly perfect square backsplash tiles. Some small counter sections, a warm wood shelf for holding beautiful bowls, and then all our favorite copper pots and brass touches will round out the space to give that feeling of a kitchen that has evolved over time, even though she’s new 🤍 We can’t wait to host you more once the space is done! And to any chefs out there who would like to host a dinner, anyone with a teachable skill (painting, crocheting, hand built pottery, paper flower making, basket weaving, French lessons! Etc etc) or to those needing a space for a small/medium gathering, email us! We are still working out all the details of rules + rates, but there’s no reason we can’t start chatting and get something on the books now! First of four new tables has arrived. Can’t wait for these simple beauties to bring people together 🤍
That said, the Atelier isn’t just for workshops hosted by the mercantile. It will also be available for private use by the end of March, so, if you have been looking for a bright and airy space to host a gathering, this could be the perfect spot! A small but beautiful vintage French style kitchen is being added as we speak, and the tables will be able to seat up to 40 guests. It’s going to be lovely 🤍 So, for now, keep your eyes on the Atelier page on our website for all of the fun workshops and events coming up, and if you’re interested in renting the space for a private affair, please send us an email to [email protected] 🤍

Nebraska Wildlflower Landscape Painting + Canapés!
Oil, acrylic + watercolor instructor, Teresa McFayden, will be hosting a relaxed, artistic afternoon of painting a beautiful, Nebraska wildflower landscape. During this 2 1/2 hour acrylic painting workshop, she will teach us the art of mixing colors and applying paint to create your very own work of art. Canapés + refreshing drinks will be provided by S.C. Mercantile. Photos shown are examples of her work and the type of painting you will create and may not depict the exact painting being created.
