I'm going to have a sale at 9305 US Hwy 51, Ashley, IL. It will be in the house and the yard, if the weather permits. I will be selling various items such as:

😔 I’ve dreaded writing this post, but it’s time to rip off the Band-Aid: Storybook Hollow is closing and the property will be up for sale.

Each year, I’ve held on emotionally, hoping I could keep it going — but this year, I made the hard, grown-up decision to let go. Just weeks before opening my very first season, my life changed in huge, unexpected ways… and I’m proud of myself for pushing through and keeping this little dream alive as long as I did.

I taught myself how to run a business, use power tools, make repairs, compare lumber prices, manage the pumpkin process, book vendors — all of it. It’s been one of the joys of my life, and a learning experience I’ll always cherish.

It could’ve become something really special — and in many ways, it already was — but I’ve had to accept that I just don’t have the time and resources to grow it into its full potential. That acceptance came with tears, prayer, and a lot of self-reflection… but I’m at peace now.

I’ll be selling many of my items to other local patches so they can continue spreading joy. The house and property will also be listed soon — I’ll post open house dates as we go.

Thank you to every person who visited, supported, cheered me on when I was sunburned, bug-bitten, heartbroken, exhausted, and doubting myself. And to my customers — I’ll never stop looking back at pictures and smiling at that one magical time I owned Storybook Hollow. Thank you for being part of it. ❤️

If you drive by SBH right now, it looks like you could get Jumanji'd into the yard, its a jungle. My mower is down and it has been very wet. I have someone coming to mow! Lol Have some Grace for me!! 🙏 On a separate note, I built a giant puppet theater in my home garage to have as a new feature with more fun things to come this year! Believe in the process, it will come together!

Hello friends!! People are always wanting me to have an Easter event and even though Easter is later this year, Southern Illinois winters and storms make that a tough plan to carry out. Lots of repairs and work has to be completed with not a lot of good days to complete them. I know you all are so sweet and understanding as I pass on Easter this year but I'm still hoping for some kind of late Spring, early Summer opening. I've got the gnomes here hard at work and lots of ideas still to come!! Blessings. 🧡🩷

Seeking opinions:

On actual Easter weekend, I'm considering having a flea market/craft fair at Storybook Hollow with Easter activities for kids as well.

I know there's a lot going on for Easter every year but not everyone has kids or participates in egg hunts but i would still want to incorporate Easter that weekend. If I had a "Market Days" type of event, would that interest you? Hit 👍 if interested. Thank you!

One of the greatest stories ever told is that of our majestic country, built upon the backs of hard-working Americans and fought for by brave men and women in the armed forces. Storybook Hollow thanks all veterans today and everyday for their selfless acts of valor. If we ever take for granted the peace, freedom, and opportunities America affords us, let it not be today. God bless our veterans, always and forever!! 🇺🇸❤️

Once again, it's a beautiful fall weekend! What a blessing! Storybook Hollow has tons of area for kiddos to run their energy out, fairy villages, pirate ship, mud pie kitchen, crafts, haunted barn, concessions, music...it's the last weekend of the season!! $5 per person, 2 and under free! 🍂🍂🍂
