I’m not physically with family this year, but grateful for FaceTime that makes me feel like I am. Watching my niece and nephew play with my old toys at Grammie and Papa’s house is pretty cool.

Despite a few hurricane-related challenges (the couple and their guests are from western Florida), K+J had the most joy-filled wedding day. Colorado blessed them with perfect weather and a truly incredible sunset.

VIP = very important pup! We love when our couples include their VIPs in their ceremonies, and we have advice to make sure the sweet pups are safe and happy while you celebrate.

We love how the variety of floral designs here gave the overall event design such texture and interest. Adding to the abundance of textures is the gorgeous hand-dyed paper, dyed with dried flowers.

Happy Father’s Day!

The couples I work with are not always blessed to have their dad’s with them on their wedding day. So I love when someone chooses to make a special moment of it. This reaction is a forever favorite.

Have I ever told you why I love wedding cakes and cake cuttings so much? It’s your first act of teamwork as an officially married couple. (I mean… after all the wedding planning obviously…)

It’s something you’ve likely never done before, it might be slightly awkward, and you look to each other for guidance on what the heck to do. (Your planner is there to help, but it might be more fun to watch you figure it out together) 😉

I was so excited with the cake Kenzie designed for our Spring Retreat theme for the in April. Trust me when I say: creatives do their best work when they’re given license to run wild with just a few guidelines and some inspiration.

Your wedding *design* starts here. The invitation suite (and maybe even the save-the-dates!) set the tone, the vibe, the level of formality. The design gives guests some clues as far as what to expect. Cohesive design matters.

The first and best piece of advice I give to couples is to make the wedding day yours. It’s not about what mom and dad want, or what the neighbors will think. It’s not about the photos your old college acquaintances will see on Instagram (and yet, beautiful and timeless photos are important!) It’s about celebrating your love in a way that’s meaningful to you.

I don’t love those “in and out” lists I see each year, and I don’t really care about the trends Vogue just wrote about. I’d rather plan something that reflects you as a couple, than something that might go viral on the ‘Gram. In my opinion, what’s “in” is a wedding that’s so “you” it couldn’t be confused with anyone else’s.

We get *so* exited when our artist clients bring their talents to their wedding design! I knew Lindsey was a skilled graphic designer, but when she showed me the crest she painted for her invitation suite, I was totally wowed! She wove the artwork like a leitmotif throughout her stationery and accessories like thank you tags and matchbooks.

How can we support you in making your meaningful artwork part of your wedding design?

We can’t WAIT to celebrate T+T this weekend!! It’s gonna be the winter wonderland of their snow-loving dreams!

In truth, it’s gonna be a COLD one for their (brief) outdoor ceremony. But they won’t *just* be keeping us warm with their love! We’re planning for a pre-ceremony hot cocoa station (and some blankets and hand warmers!)

We’ve had a snowy weekend in Aspen! We’re getting ready for ski season and thinking back to this dreamy winter wedding. It was cold, blustery, and beautiful!
