CONGRATULATIONS TO BARCLAY + MOLLY DODGE OF Bosq ON THEIR FIRST MICHELIN 🌟 - IT'S OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN COLORADO!!! ANOTHER CONGRATS TO ALL THE COLORADO RESTAURANTS WHO ALSO RECEIVED A MICHELIN STAR OR GREEN STAR AND HAVE PUT COLORADO ON THE MAP!! THIS IS HUGE!!

Colorado officially has five Michelin star restaurants. The Colorado Michelin guide also includes green star restaurants and other recommended eateries.

PLEASE READ + STOP USING THE LAUNDRESS DETERGENT ASAP! Just got this email warning from the laundry detergent we've been using for years. Recently, Kevin and I have noticed our skin itching like crazy and bumpy breakouts - which we have been blaming the change in weather and the sudden cold temps. Seems this might be it??

Dear Valued Customer,

This safety notice is to inform you to immediately stop using all The Laundress products in your possession. We have identified the potential presence of elevated levels of bacteria in some of our products that present a safety concern.

Based on our investigation to date, we are not aware of any adverse health impacts related to this issue.

Your safety and the quality of our products is our top priority. As such, we are sending you this safety notice. We are working closely with our suppliers to ensure that our products meet our standards and your expectations.

We apologize for this situation and appreciate your attention to this notice.

Yesterday I arrived back home from a short trip to Boulder and this was at our door - a thank you letter and a set of wooden bowls from Andy + Mike (mother of the bride + father of the bride). During their daughter's wedding, the rental company forgot to add salad bowls to the order and we scrambled to find ones we could use around their kitchen. When I stumbled upon this set of wooden bowls (see in photos) showcased on a shelf on their center island of their kitchen I thought "there is no way she's going to go for this, they are too special". I asked Andy if we could use them for dinner service and he response was - "of course, use anything that makes it easy for you". I admired these bowls and thought to myself that someday I'd like a set of beautiful, loved and timeless wooden bowls just like these. Well, shucks - now I have the bowls for the rest of my life to serve my meals in to all my friends and family during special gatherings. I cried opening the box and reading her letter!

We catered their daughter's wedding at their private home in Breckenridge this summer and they were sent to me by another very special couple (and now dear friends - Henry + Kika) who's daughter's wedding I had catered here in Aspen the summer before. We now focus on smaller events and limit the number of larger parties and weddings - but when this referral came in, I couldn't t refuse because I knew it would be another experience that would be a highlight of my career. It's so important to me to be able to cook with my heart and pour all the love into every minute of being in the kitchen. This wedding was more - we showed up ready to set up the entire reception + ceremony site, but when we arrived Andy and their whole family had done all the work because she wanted it to be "easy" for us. I looked at her in awe and confusion and said to her "Andy, that's why you hired us and now we have hours of twiddling our thumbs". She said - "that's OK, I just wanted to make sure you didn't have to work too hard and I had a vision and was excited to do this". It's been about 17 years of being a private chef and having a catering company and this was a first for me.

Laura + Eric were two of my very first clients in Boulder in 2006. I knew right away that we'd always be friends and now they are our neighbors! I just adore them and am so exited to have them right down the road from us. They moved to Aspen during co-vid while Eric was working on his real estate license and now is an agent with Slifer Smith + Frampton RFV. Laura is the most incredible artist - her studio is in Carbondale and she sells fine art all around the Aspen area and world! Two days ago they moved into their dream home here in Basalt and for their housewarming gift - Kev and I cooked them a multi-course Nobu inspired menu :: veg spring rolls with sweet scallion soy | tuna poke salsa with corn chips | lime infused steamed edamame | thai coconut curry |kale salad with roasted beets, white soy braised black lentils, candied sesame, fried shallots garlic + ginger with citrus + cumin tahini dressing | miso roasted sea bass | sushi style forbidden rice with cilantro + scallions | roasted bok choy with mango hot sauce | lime infused custard with fresh berries + crumbled ginger snaps = YUMMMY!

This is my cousin-in-law, STEVE ARCHIBALD (aka, ARCHIE). 11 years ago he was diagnosed with BRAIN CANCER - Stage III Anaplastic Astrocytoma. His journey has been hard, beautiful and brave. He is like a brother to us and married to my cousin (a soul sister to me), Sarah and they have a beautiful little boy named Dylan. They are an inspiration and they are three people who mean the absolute world to us. Please support TEAM ARCHIE and his/their path of living with Brain Cancer and his story below. Cooking from my heart is where I flourish! I met Henry and Kika 2 years ago as they were planning their daughter's wedding - my first meeting with them ended up with heartfelt conversations that had me in tears at times, knowing that they would be two people that would imprint me as a chef, but also as friends. My heart fills when I have the chance to see them and I feel so lucky that my love of cooking and helping to create everlasting memories for people has allowed me to build lifelong friendships. Henry + Kika - i adore you both so much and can not thank you enough for you our friendship and being two people who I look up to and admire so much! I'm so glad we got to share this hike together and we are already excited to hike the bowl and uphill with you when your back to Colorado this winter! XO

Our all day event with / East West Partners last week was "off the hook"! There is NOTHING better than loving the team you work with, the clients and have an opportunity to "wow" VIP guests with food! Honored and grateful that we get to be a part of the Snowmass Base Village development and help showcase the new Aura Residences. We were there all day putting on two events: 45 for lunch / 125 for cocktail and heavy apps. What a day to remember and we had so much fun doing it!!

Thanksgiving week and I am SOOOOOO T H A N K F U L for this couple and this family - M A R I K A + C H R I S ❤️❤️❤️❤️.

To me there is nothing better than connecting a close bond with our clients and making new friends - catering this wedding was one of the biggest highlight's in my career. Love surrounded this family and it was amazing to watch and see what defines how love and life should be and it to be celebrated with grace and goodness!

Summer time screams for light and vibrant dishes and this is a crowd pleaser - Roast Salmon with Pesto. My absolute favorite way to make pesto is without cheese {obviously not traditional, but the Baum way}.
- heat 1/4 cup olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. add 2 shallots + 3 garlic cloves and pan roast for 1 minute. in a blender add 2 large handfuls of basil. Add the olive oil/shallots/garlic, 1/4 cup toasted pine nuts, 1 tbsp vinegar, 1/2 tbsp maple syrup, a pinch of salt and about 1/8 cup water. blend until smooth. serve with your favorite protein, pasta, rice or veggies - you'll be so happy you did! DOUBLE to freeze for later use!!

Summer time calls for a Fresh Kale Salad {with Roasted Chickpeas}. Our CSA from Two Roots Farm here in Basalt, CO is plentiful with beautiful kale right now! So easy and so fresh - tear up the kale leaves and add lemon juice, good quality olive oil, salt and pepper and any toppings you ❤️. We strained and dried canned chickpeas between two paper towels and seasoned with our fave Hawaiian seasoning {Jeff's Jams and Jelly's // Original} and baked at 450 for 8 minutes. VIOLIA!!!!
