This time of year in the Roaring Fork Valley the only things blooming are our tulips, daffodils, hellebores, and fruit trees. All organically grown right here on our own Emmadale Farm.

What’s different about our flowers?

When we receive our flowers we quickly unbox them, give the stems a fresh cut with a sharp floral knife,
dip them in specially formulated hydrating solution, and place them in fresh water treated with floral
food, a biocide to prevent clogging of the stems, and an acidifier. The hydrating solution is based on
citric acid, which helps the flower to uptake water after being cut.
The holding solution is changed every
second day, keeping it fresh and the supply of food fresh.
Big Box retailers, such as grocery stores, do not follow these procedures. They save money but your
flowers don’t last and often don’t even rehydrate.🌹
