A Flower CSA…What is it?
A Community Supported Agriculture with flowers, providing you with a supply of my farms flower harvest.
A CSA share is purchased in advance, either as a gift or for yourself, for a season or seasons of fresh flowers delivered to your door.
The benefits of this CSA service are:
1. Unique varieties of flowers not found in stores.
2. Support of your local farming businesses.
3. Fresh flowers for each season that last longer because they’re grown locally and picked no more than 12 hours before reaching your home.
A CSA Flower purchase is an investment in my business that helps me purchase the seeds, compost, seed starting supplies, bulbs, and all the things that help me get as many seedlings into the ground and grown, to your door for your enjoyment.
I deliver from East Astoria to South Seaside, with Olney and Lewis & Clark area included!
Why do I deliver?
It gives me a way of connecting to my customers and alleviates the task of picking up your bouquets. I also deliver to retirement facilities, Medical and Dental offices, and retail offices. If you think you or someone you know would love fresh flowers delivered,
message me here and I’ll get all the information to you about the 2025 season!

Saying goodbye to the last of the 2024 season is hard. The rain and wind are coming and the “Red skies at morning, Sailors take warning” signs are here. I’m far from done with my prep for 2025, but that’s what rain gear is for. Living in Oregon, that’s just a standard part of the wardrobe. I’m feeling like this sunflower these days. A bit bedraggled. Taking the winter “off” will definitely give me a reboot I need to go screaming into the Spring season 2025! It’s gonna be great!!

I want to give a HUGE thanks to Peter Pan Market & Deli for allowing me to sell my bouquets there again this year! Your staff is friendly and cheerful, the atmosphere is casual, and the ease of being able to refill the stand biweekly was perfect!!
I hope to partner with you again in 2025 as a conveient stop for a premade bouquet for a gift or for yourself! Did I mention their Deli? The Bangarang sandwich is my personal favorite…and don’t forget the carrot cake!! Thanks for allowing me to flourish 🫶🏻

The flower season has come to an end and the growing area is getting tired. Some things are still doing great in the cooler weather (38 degrees here this morning) but I’m already dreaming of what to plant where next year. I’ve got lots of work to do to clear the area and put it to bed until spring. More raised beds are waiting to be put together and oodles (and I mean oodles!) of tulips, daffodils, and other spring bloomers will soon be here to be planted. If you see clouds of dust spewing in the air like a tornado out my way, just carry on. It’s just me tearing out everything that I grew this year. These days are hard, but I’m not gonna lie, I’m looking forward to some baking, crafts, time spent with friends, being warm by the fire, and some football.
Thursday (October 3rd) will be my last bunch of bouquets for Peter Pan and subscribers. It’s bittersweet and I’m grateful for the love and support in 2024! Thank you will never be enough❤️

As we shift back to shorter days, we also get a fresh start. Yes, we’re losing the fun of summer, but like a kid with new school clothes and a new grade, we can open our minds to new things. I’m looking forward to the slowdown in the next few months and taking in all the new things I can learn going forward🧡

It’s Fun Fact Friday🎉Zinnias…
As pretty as they are, they are dirty! Not like, inappropriate dirty, but Charlie Brown’s buddy Pig Pen dirty🥴 They muck up the water pretty quickly and if water isn’t changed out each day it will create bacteria that will lessen the life of your flowers. Why grow them if they’re so much trouble? They are beautiful!
Zinnias are easy to grow from seed and come in so many colors, sizes, and varieties. They are tough, thrive in the heat and when cut at the right time, can last 7-10 days in a vase.
Some will last longer than others, but changing the water every day and making a fresh diagonal cut to the stems will definitely extend the life of the bouquet.
Yes, it’s a bit more work, but queens just need that extra attention 👑

Fun Fact Friday!!
Breadseed Poppy seeds are tiny! They are easy to grow, and if left to dry in the garden, will bless you with poppyseeds forever 😂 Each pod that develops after flowering contains dozens of seeds. These pods can be used in arrangements (before drying) and also dried to retain the seeds or for dried arrangements and for baking. There are thousands of recipes for poppy seeds. My favorite is lemon poppyseed bread…with lemon glaze, of course😋
What’s your favorite recipe for poppyseeds?

Love-in-a-mist (Nigella)…
This was a new plant added this year. The little balloons develop into unique, airy flowers and from there to pods. A great addition to a cutting garden! I read that the seeds inside the pods are edible and have the taste of grape Koolaid. I’ll have to try them. Stay tuned!

The life of the Starflower Scabiosa…
It has a paper-like textured seed pod when left to fully develop. It is a fun addition to mixed bouquets and can also be great when dried for arrangements.
