Hereā€™s a throwback to our early days, back when 227 West Dougherty had just become our new home in Athens. Itā€™s hard to believe that ten years have passed until we look back at how different the space was!

Live Wire Athens was born in late 2014 after the Robertson family purchased the old Fox Appliance building on Dougherty St.

Formerly New Earth Music Hall, the building was recognized as a hot spot for live music! Live Wire Athens and the Robertson family sought to continue showcasing our love for music.

As a result, our venue found a nice home tucked away in the Northwest corner of downtown Athens!

If you would like to hear about our origin story as a business started from some high school kids and a very passionate father please be sure to attend our 10 year anniversary party, this Saturday at 7 PM with , F.O.R., and !

AthFest 2024 was pure magic - Watching our city come together to celebrate local music and uplift the next generation of artists makes us proud to call Athens home. Our sunburns will fade (we hope), but the memories will last (Okay, weā€™re done being corny for now). A major thank you to all the incredible artists and musicians, staff and volunteers working round the clock, the vendors and downtown businesses who kept us fed, watered, and shaded, Acc Solid Waste for making it sustainable, and our organizers at AthFest Music & Arts Festival and Athfest Educates for making it happen!

Itā€™s rare to see Algy making a cocktail sans rum, and even rarer on Tiki Taco Tuesday. šŸ¹ Introducing the Saturn, a drink so out of this world that even this rum aficionado was inspired to add it to our weekly tiki menu. The Recipe: Fordā€™s Gin, Falernum, Liber & Co Orgeat, and Liber & Co Passion Fruit Syrup. The Saturn pairs well with seasonal tacos from Don Carne, our on-site Chef this evening. šŸŒ® You can only get the Saturn on Tuesdays from 5 to 10 PM-ish at Live Wire Athens, so donā€™t miss out! šŸŖ
