Has Black Culture Been Weaponized Against Us...and is Hip-Hop Complicit?
Many of us have sworn our allegiance to hip-hop culture but has it quietly morphed into something that is poisoning the very community that created it?
Our brother Student Minister Demetric Muhammad weighs in this Saturday.

Dr. Wesley Muhammad Speaks on the Kendrick Lamar / Drake "Beef"
For the last week or so, we have been glued to our phones watching the fireworks and inhaling the smoke. The Drake/Kendrick Lamar Battle has officially become legendary. It has broken records and depending on who you ask, has sparked a fire in hip-hop again.
It has also reached a new low in terms of mud slinging. Are you entertained? Tonight, our brother @wesleymuhammad addresses it all.

Gospel And Hip-Hop: Can It Break Into The Mainstream?
Hip-Hop has influenced every musical style on the charts and gospel is no exception. "Gospel Hip-Hop", a sub-genre of rap, has been bubbling beneath the service for quite some time and has way more to offer than just Lecrae.
Recently in the Atlanta area, 100's of Gospel Hip-Hop artists gathered to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Gospel Hip-Hop/Christian Hip-Hop (GHH/CHH) Hall of Fame Museum that highlights the pioneers of the genre. DJ Rockwell speaks with 3 of the inductees and the founder of the GHH/CHH Hall of Fame to discuss its impact on the overall culture.

One On One With Ilia Rashad Muhammad
We recently caught up with Student Minister Ilia Rashad Muhammad while he was in Athens, GA to premiere his new documentary "ANSWERED - The Coming of God". There is little that is more controversial than the subject of so-called "U.F.O's"...except the fact that these mysterious wheels have a DIRECT connection to GOD, the Nation of Islam and Black People.
Got questions? Tune in to get them "answered" by author, researcher and documentarian, Student Minister Ilia Rashad Muhammad.

We'll discuss his new endeavor as a voice-over artist (which can be seen in a series of posts titled "You Said It, I Read It'), how he came to the Teachings of T.H.E.M and perhaps have some of his family members call in and tell some embarrassing stories. 😉

One-On-One With Bro. Abdul Muhammad
Bro. Abdul Muhammad, a veteran educator and follower of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan was unjustly removed from his post as the principal of Lindblom Math and Science Academy. In the process of fighting back, a much deeper scandal is being exposed in the Chicago Public School system (CPS).
His story is being covered by mainstream news outlets in Chicago and he shared it on many popular podcasts. In this episode, Bro. Abdul Muhammad stops by #TRRS to share why his fight with CPS should concern us all.

Attention Atlanta!
When Big David C. and I got in the podcast game, our goal was to put the "clean glass vs dirty glass" teaching to the test. We wanted to offer a critical analysis of the culture and present the people with an alternative to the mainstream. We committed to doing 100 episodes of The Rockwell Radio Show and we finally are here.
To celebrate the 100th episode, we are going to try something we haven't done before: tape the show before a live studio audience. We're going to have a panel discussion about the state of the culture and hear how it's impacting our youth. But instead of us old heads talking, we're going to hear directly from YOUNG PEOPLE. We are aiming this at our young adults. If you have sons and daughters, nieces and nephews or are over a youth group, bring them to be a part of this experience. Click the link in the comments for details. SPACE IS LIMITED. FREE ADMISSION.

Dee-1 Is Making Them Accountable...But Should It Have Been Done Behind Closed Doors?
Dee-1 of New Orleans drew a line in the sand when he publicly called out Rick Ross, Meek Mill and Jim Jones about their violent lyrics while on Sway In The Morning last week. This episode does not intend to promote a "beef" between two rap artists but when someone makes a public call for rappers to "do better", that's worth looking deeper into.
Although many felt what Dee-1 said, would pulling them to the side have been a more brotherly thing to do? Or was making this stance public a showcase of faith and fearlessness?

Why Black America Celebrated The "Montgomery Brawl"
The whole world saw the video that would eventually be called "the Montgomery Brawl."
Black people cheered from coast-to-coast. Black Twitter did what Black Twitter does and as we all know, The Internet NEVER loses.
But while many of us laughed at the memes, some cried tears of joy (literally) at the sight of finally seeing US fight back. In a special episode of #TRRS, we speak to veteran Final Call Newspaper staff writer Nisa Islam Muhammad and Student Minister Shakir Muhammad of Muhammad Mosque #101 in Montgomery, AL to unravel the emotion Black people felt....and where we go from here with it.

Women Taking Accountability with Hecava Mecca
he #HipHop50 Celebration is far from over.
Women in hip-hop have a long history and have been rocking side-by-side with us since its inception. But unfortunately, our sisters haven't been given a fair share of the spotlight to tell their story about what matters to them. So for a special Friday episode of #TRRS, Big Dave Sea and I are steppin' to the side and passing the mic over to none other than Hecava Mecca.
Sisters, this one is for y'all.

The Symphony - A Roundtable Discussion Examining Hip-Hop's 50th Anniversary
In honor of Hip-Hop's 50th Anniversary, we have assembled 4 student ministers who are not just proficient in the Word, but also who are part of the hip-hop generation. We will discuss the culture, the music and how to free it from the enemies who have exploited it. Since our people are lost in the savagery of the "wild, wild west", it's only right that we assemble a "posse" to bring it to order.
We'll call it "The Symphony"...because THESE brothers teach at the drop of a dime, baby.
