Still thinking about this not-too-on-the-nose Valentine's wedding design ❤️ Our column arrangements have been one of our most popular ceremony designs for the past year because they play beautifully with so many different styles, are extremely versatile, and are easily repurposed from ceremony to reception. Reception moments at ✨ Jazzmine and Branson were so much fun to work with- for their reception we ended up with about 4 different centerpiece styles that alternates through the space in a variation of textures, height, shape, and function. This created a reception design full of depth, visual interest, and, you guessed it- impact. My couples should really take a shot every time I say the word impact 😅

We've been seeing floral wearables become more and more prevalent over the last year or so and for good reason. We recently had the opportunity to create floral wearables and we're given full creative range. This is what we created:
• floral shoulder pieces to create abundant impact on this beautiful suit
• floral tattoos attached on the arms, hands, neck, + collarbone- these flexed with movement!
• an airy, hyacinth headpiece reminiscent of the sun or Medusa, take your pick 🐍
• bold orchid hair combs places asymmetrically
• bespoke live orchid drop earrings
• a few more pairs of hand wired earrings that didn't make it into this carousel

✨ CEREMONY REPURPOSING ✨

These are just a few examples from our 2023 weddings where we repurposed the ceremony florals for reception! We love maximizing floral impact and your budget by repurposing everything possible from the ceremony. This could mean arrangements on columns that are later placed on the head table, a grounded meadow installation that is split up around the reception space or in front of a sweetheart table, deconstructed floral arches that are later moved to the bar, etc! When we go through our initial design proposal with you, we'll talk about different options and figure out what would work best for you. We'll also likely steer you away from things that can't be repurposed (like aisle marker chair swags) and towards things that can (like grounded aisle markers). It is unreal that we've hit December- I still am reeling from our October/November busy season. We've started final floral meetings for our January couples, planning for some big projects at the beginning of the year, and began working on much needed tasks that got pushed to the side during the fall. It's been a very tough few months for a lot of vendors, us included, and I just want to say thank you to all of our couples, past + upcoming, for making this the most rewarding work I've done. We'll be hitting two years of AF on Friday and I'm sure I'll make another sappy post. Much love 🤍

Don't inquire with a florist until you have done these 3 things 🙅‍♀️ 1- Locked in your wedding date 2- Set your floral budget 3- Decided on your floral priorities All 3 are super important when inquiring! The first two are necessary logistically while the third allows your florist to create a proposal catered specifically to your needs and wants! For example, if you care less about centerpieces and more about a large impact ceremony design, I'm going to cater my ideas and your budget to make that happen rather than focusing on abundant centerpieces that matter less to you. It's unavoidable at this point 🤷‍♀️ Floristry is 90% dirty, labor intensive work so that we can create knockout designs for our clients. Anthurium are so easy to color correct and I'm honestly just grateful that this box didn't come in bruised + damaged because they can be very delicate! If you are wanting anthurium for your wedding, just keep in mind that your florist is likely working extra hours behind the scenes to make sure they're perfect for you ❤️‍🔥 . Save this if you want organic, textural, + a little funky wedding florals ✨ I had so much fun designing for Q+W. This is another example of how you can have a limited color palette of white and green (and an optional little pop of color) and create something visually interesting, fun, + architectural! From beginning to end, our design plan changed a few times to land on something that we were all so excited to bring to life and that felt much truer to their personalities. Me 🤝 butterfly ranunculus Today I just wanted to design for myself using one of our new vessels. My puppy was playing at my feet, the sunlight coming in was perfect, and it was so nice to go in using nothing but a bunch of butterfly and standard ranunculus and play. Our wedding season is starting up this month and I'm taking a little time to enjoy one of our last slow weekends before it's go time again.

SAVE THIS LIST FOR LATER 👇👇👇 1. Don't choose your color palette based on the Pantone color of the year or what you see all over Pinterest, choose it based on colors that are significant to you, excite you, or that you feel represents you! This could mean a gorgeous white and green wedding or it could mean a red and blue elopement like this one!! The most important thing is that every design decision you make reflects you and your partner, not what Pinterest is choosing to show you. 2. Trust your florist. This bride sent me a handful of inspiration photos, the color palette, and her (very cool) wedding attire. From there, she gave me full creative freedom and with it I was able to create a multi-functional floral installation that felt like them! It was architectural, textural, and most importantly, unique to their elopement and style. Not only is it impossible for any florist to exactly copy a design, it's also not something I ever want to do. As a floral designer, you are hiring me to use my creative expertise to design something for you, and the more freedom you give me, the more I am able to customize something that will be unique to you and not what most people are pinning on their boards. 3. Source inspiration unlikely places! When you are looking for inspiration photos, send us interior designs, photos from nature, sculptures, and paintings! Send us stills from movies, screenshots from your favorite anime, pictures of food! Or, like one of our current brides, send us pictures of hamsters 😂 Truly, inspiration can be found EVERYWHERE, and I want you to send it to us! On a very serious note, if you want flowers based on your favorite Studio Ghibli movie, I want to be your floral designer 🌸 We've got more tips where that came from to dream up your unique wedding florals, and we want to make it come to life for you! I had such an amazing time creating this floral installation for my branding shoot with @hannahlondonphotography !!! We were both talking about how all we wanted was to use this set up for a styled shoot with a bride in a white dress 😭 I'm hoping to do more beautiful installations like this for future weddings and events!
