Of course, it is not like we would want to work with people who can’t respect and affirm of our communities anyway, but we are business owners that support ourselves, our families and communities through our work. Consider that when hiring your wedding team. Not just aesthetics, but values and lifestyle. After all, we will work together closely to build your best day ever and would you rather get those fake smiles and rolling eyes for months, specially throughout your wedding day or have someone there that actually is happy for you and working hard to provide the best services while seeing it with kind and fun eyes?

Pride is important, pride month is great to see who supports and values you. But which vendors are in the trenches, fighting the good fight year around, showcasing love and supporting the same businesses as you? How would you like to be represented and where would you like your money to go?

Easter Sunday, working, editing weddings, listening to @beyonce ‘s new album. I couldn’t help but immediately tear up while listening to this song. I had to pause, stop everything and think of my daughters. After a heavy start of the day and realizing a mother will literally come back from the dead if needed to protect her children, this song touched me.

There is no rest. We know the world can be a cruel place, we know we can’t protect them forever. But they’re little flowers, they deserve a healthy and peaceful childhood. How can people that supposed to love and protect them, inadvertently try to take it away for their own benefit?

It’s Easter Sunday and I wonder about the pain Mary felt when she couldn’t protect her son. I hope I can gather similar strength to always protect and provide for my children. They are pure energy, love, kindness, laughter, care and empathy. Both have dodged death from the start. Both had a second chance. It’s up to me make this life worth living for them and never forget they need me. I’m gonna be your protector! Thanks @beyonce for the reminder.

Social Media can be so deceiving. Look at these amazing smiling photos! They’re not fake. The smiles are real, the moment is real. This was me last summer closer to my birthday.

When I open up to people, throughly open up, the one thing I hear is “I don’t know how you do it” or “if it was me, I wouldn’t be able to even (insert most basic action).” Oh and “did you know we nicknamed you super woman”?

It all sounds nice but behind the smile, behind the jokes and all the giving and working and trying and thriving, I am crumbling. Which is great! Don’t get me wrong. Evolution only happens in dark times and is historically proven. The say “the comfort zone is where dreams go to die” is popular for a reason. I do have a very positive mindset that has kept me going, but being realistic is equally as important.

But it has been rough. I’ve been blessed with so many wonderful developments and moments and friendships and beautiful children, but my positive outlook on life and people has betrayed me. I used to think we all lived in a My Little Pony type of universe, full of colors and friendships, rainbows unicorns and possibilities. Yet, there is evil out there. The type of evil you see in Game of Thrones or Handmaid’s Tale’s villains evil.

The brighter you shine, the more they’ll try to eclipse you, sim your light, until it completely fades away. There is no limits to their misery. And this is why I believe in being sunshine when things are cloudy. Shining your light through the rain, creating rainbows, turning darkness into smiles. Happy people have no time to judge others or sabotage others lives plotting petty evil plans.

But just as we all have sunny days, we face the darkest of nights. Some seasons grant the shortest days and longest cold evenings. And with darkness, comes demons. When we can’t change our surroundings, all we can do is survive, stay strong, get a hold of ourselves and wait hoping the next bright and w

Every wedding is different. Every circumstance allows for a different take. No matter what, it is an important moment to keep forever.

The decision to say YES to your partner is a big one. The universe has to work in so many ways for you to meet, match and decide to come together in this beautiful one of a kind moment.

For all of that, including for a fun, relaxed wedding day, we must let go of so many expectations and control. Let go of the stress and appreciate the outcome. Every single human being has different perspectives. The way you remember a memory is different than your partner and so is the film maker. We are all focused on different things and have different priorities in the back of our minds due to our roles. So do all guests, family and vendors.

But the words are there, the moment is still there and capturing different aspects of it to keep that memory alive, remains priceless.
