The past 11 months have changed my perspective on photos.
I’ve had an abundance of time to reevaluate the purpose behind the photos we take and realized it’s not just about the photos. These session/weddings are more about having a good experience and creating a memory. After all, when you look at the photos on your wall, you aren’t evaluating the quality or lighting, you’re reminiscing on the memories that surround the photos and that time of your life.
So moving forward I’m going to shift my focus from just “taking amazing photos” to “taking amazing photos while having the time of your life!”

The face you make when you realize it’s Friday night!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here so I wanted pop in and say hello! Currently, I’m waiting in the freezing cold for to-go cocktails/burgers across the street from our place. Per usual, we’re going to spend our Friday night watching a scary movie and consuming something greasy!

Weddings look a little different right now, but different isn’t necessarily a bad thing. David and Lauren got married during the pandemic, but were able to be surrounded by their closest friends and family. They were able to visit with each and every person. The entire process felt romantic, stress free, and intimate.
A big wedding can be fun, but it can be easy to forget about the purpose of the wedding. It’s not about the centerpieces, dance party, or how many guests attended. 20 years from now you won’t look back and care what flowers were around the alter or how many people filled the reception hall. You will remember seeing each other for the first time down the aisle, how it felt to hear your partner’s vows, and how loved and supported you both were by the people around you.

A few years ago Katie was maid of honor in a wedding we shot and told me at the reception that one day she would be calling me to take her wedding photos. She stuck to her word! Today we took Katie and Taylor's engagement photos and it could not have been more perfect!

So let’s be honest...it now basically rains every other day here in Georgia. Good weather is just not something you can count on. It’s impossible to plan anything without the threat of rain.
If you are booking a photographer for your wedding, graduation photos, an engagement session or even family photos you should consider trying to find someone who can work in all conditions and thrive. I have heard countless people say they spent the entire week before their wedding stressing about the chance of rain. How is that worth it?!
I’m not saying everyone needs to book me, but when you’re looking to hire a photographer, you should consider looking for someone that can do it all so you don’t waste your time worrying about the weather.
My goal is for all of my clients to be excited when they see rain on the forecast because they know we’ll get amazing photos regardless of the conditions!

Tonight's wedding was such a good one!! Picking a preview was impossible.

Mara and Elan...I can officially say you are the only couple I've ever seen full on dance back down the aisle. So awesome! Just wait until you see the photos!!
