I always tell my brides that finding the right dress is primarily about relaxing, having fun, and TRUSTING yourself. For many women, this experience is very communal: family, friends, even the fiancée sometimes. I love all the love and energy surrounding the woman during this special time. I especially love to watch t

he bride take this in, soak in it. Be present. All of this makes my job juicy, and ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved the juicy parts of life. The times when you really get into what life is all about: loving ourselves and others, trusting the process, and being present for all the good stuff.

Holding up fort by my lonesome (one advantage of living close by on snow days) and loving the quiet and still feelings of today. I've had a couple of brides make the trek, but mostly have been reconnecting with this incredible space and reflecting on 23 years. I see so many of my old closeters and brides everywhere around me- you have left your mark. Starting with the one and only , who was just the best and not only ushered me through our renovations but dug these light fixtures out of god knows where. (Maybe Kutzu Antiques???) Thank you to all of you who have left something behind from your time here and made this space what it is today. Sending love and well wishes for this new year.

Going for a walk in my neighborhood that I love so damn much and walking by the shop and catching my breath. Sometimes it is just overwhelming. Next week, it will be 23 years of the closet, and I am forever humbled and grateful for everything this store has given me over the years. It literally brings tears to my eyes. Thank you to all the women who have graced this space with their energy and love throughout the years, customers, neighbors, staff, seamstresses. It is more than I ever could have hoped for. I just overheard a couple of men leaving Gigi’s (which is AWESOME by the way, if you haven’t tried it) and they exclaimed, “Beautiful!” As they were climbing into their car. Beautiful indeed. All of it.
