The Philadelphia City Council passed a bill this past Thursday that bans the use of ski masks in some public places. It is alleged that the new law will help law enforcement solve crimes, but many think this will criminalize people of color. The bill, passed by a 13-2 vote, will fine offenders $250 for each offense, and up to $2,000 if a mask is worn during the commission of a crime. ‼️

Shout out to for breaking records again!!! Over the weekend, she released her
new movie, "Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé," and has already scored a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. The film includes clips from her latest tour "Renaissance," and includes the super star's voice narrating each moment throughout the film. Many fans celebrated the release of the movie by wearing silver, a color that has become synonymous with the “Renaissance Tour.” Some fans also filmed people singing and dancing inside the theater while watching the movie. You can still catch the film in a theater near you! ‼️ ‼️

The inmate who stabbed Derek Chauvin 22 times has now been charged with attempted murder. Turscak, who has been charged with attempted murder, told the corrections officers he would have killed Chauvin had they not responded so quickly. Turscakbalso stated that his attack of (Derek Chauvin) on Black Friday was symbolic with the Black Lives Matter movement and the “Black Hand” symbol associated with the Mexican Mafia criminal organization.

After a year and a half of dealing with a RICO indictment, rapper Young Thug will finally have to stand trial.  It will also be known as one of the most high profile cases in Atlanta. Along with Young Thug, whose legal name is Jeffery Williams, five others of the original 28 indicted will have to stand trial. Stay tuned as we will continue to give you updates on the trial. ‼️ ‼️

Beyonce premiered her "Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé" in Los Angeles at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Saturday. The event showcased familiar faces, such as her former Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett. Fans are happy to see it!!!

Over the weekend Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph got many folks in the Christmas spirit when she made history as the first Black Mrs. Claus during the 97th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

“I am so honored to have been asked by Macy's to be their first celebrity Mrs. Claus for this year’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!” Ralph exclusively tells PEOPLE. “It’s such a festive and enjoyable role, bringing warmth and joy to the start of the holiday season. I get to spread love and embody the spirit of giving. The perfect role for me!”

Alabama A&M University's Marching Maroon and White Band also made history by kicking off the parade in New York City. The band's director, Carlton Wright, told CNN the performance was a huge significant moment for the historically Black college.

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who was convicted of murder in the death of George Floyd in 2020, was stabbed and seriously injured at a federal prison in Arizona on Friday. Prison staff were able to perform “life-saving measures” and take Chauvin to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

Fulton County have dropped murder and other charges against Ludacris’ longtime manager, Chaka Zulu, after they determined he acted in self-defense when he shot and killed a 23-year-old college graduate during a fight in the parking lot of his Buckhead restaurant in 2022.

 Chaka Zulu Obafemi, was one of three people shot on June 26 in the shopping center parking lot outside of his Buckhead restaurant. The shooting left Artez Benton dead and sent another person to the hospital. APD investigators said that the shooting was the result of a fight between Zulu and others.

On September 13, Zulu surrendered on charges of murder, aggravated assault, simple battery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Jail records show that he was released the same day on $200,000 bond.

Fulton County prosecutors have dropped all of the charges, including murder, for longtime Atlanta music executive Chaka Zulu.

Prosecutors say that Zulu acted in self defense stemming from a shooting outside of his Buckhead restaurant back in June of 2022.
Zulu, along with two other people were shot as a result of a fight between Zulu and a few others. Artez Jamil Benton, 23, was shot in the chest and died from his injuries, and another man was shot and sent to the hospital.
Zulu reportedly turned himself in to police on Sept. 13, 2022, and was released on bond the same day.
