Please be in Prayer for Tisa & The BKintz Formalwear team. Bobby will be missed.
Robert John (Bobby) Kintz, Jr. died surrounded by friends and family, on Sunday, March 10, 2024, just days shy of his fourth wedding anniversary and his 61st birthday.
The crowned prince of Gadsden and northeast Alabama’s tuxedo legacy, he followed his beloved father Bob Kintz, who originated their empire. The legacy he learned from his father was one of camaraderie, service, and love for his fellow man.
Bobby poured himself into everything he did, especially his shop in downtown Gadsden, BKintz Formalwear. Created with his marketing-savvy wife, Tisa, BKintz burst onto the scene during covid 2021 with its stunning brick and antique interior.
Bobby loved people and the stories that made them tick. This was his favorite pastime. What he loved most about BKintz was it became a gathering place for friends, both young and old. A First Friday summer wasn’t complete without his favorite DJ, some bubbles for guests, and his voice carrying above the conversations to welcome each friend to the party.
It was the repeat customer of whom he had the most pride, saying “You can sell anything once, but if you can sell it twice, then you have done a great job!” By all estimates Bobby fitted more than 250,000 friends during his career.
He delighted in the return of a young adult planning a wedding, of whom he had once fitted for prom. Bobby’s proficiency of his craft, inherited from his father, he carried on faithfully and will be continued by his wife.
There will be a sizeable void within in the formalwear network due to Bobby’s deep connections, as he was a noted and respected leader in the industry.
Bobby always had an irreverent and uninhibited story about his buddies in Gadsden for anyone who would listen. He leaves behind too many friends to mention, as he never met a stranger and would talk to anyone about anything. All will miss those random interactions.
He is survived by his loving wife Tisa Moore, his favorite Birmingham mother-in-law Judith Moore, his fur babies Dierks and Louis. Notably, the dedicated staff of BKintz, joining Bobby and Tisa on their new adventure, fine tuning their art of service and innovation. Also, the entire fan club of his precious hometown, Gadsden, Alabama, who were near and dear to his heart.
Lastly, he leaves behind mother, Carole Kintz, sisters Rita (Ted) Moncus, Kathy (Jay) Brown, and Laura (Armin) Nesmith, and other extended family members. He is predeceased by his beloved father, Bob Kintz, Sr.
Tisa will receive their friends at their home from 11am until 4pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bobby’s name to the Etowah County Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
In addition, Bobby would want you to reach out to your loved ones, enjoy their company, tell stories and remind one another that you matter. This is what he did every day, all his life, and this joy is his legacy.
