Today , we have a special birthday shout out all the way up in Heaven!
On what would have been her 83rd birthday, if it wasn't for her, Serenity would have never existed. My beautiful mother.
At the age of 20, she made the decision to immigrate to America from Ireland, landing in Boston in 1961. After meeting my father as a coworker @ RCA , they married and settled in RI. Mom was a hard worker , determined to make a better life for herself in America. Much of my drive for success came from her guidance in life. I didn't always do what she told me , but I always listened to what she had to say. I learned at a very young age that whatever I thought I deserve in this life, I better get to work. My first job in life was cleaning the parking lot , at the age of 9, at a well known restaurant that she managed in Pawtucket RI. My pay? A piece of Blueberry Cream Pie.
She pushed me to be a better man always in life. I failed her often. But as I got older, I figured out what she was talking about. All of my successes are a direct result of her tutoring. Thanks Mom for never giving up on me. We miss you dearly!
I hope you are dancing the jig up there today, I will dance one down here today.
Picture is our last dance together at my wedding May 2019. She was already dying inside with Parkinson's and Lewy body dementia . But her determination to dance with her baby boy on his wedding day reminds me to never quit !💚🇮🇪☘️🙏😇
