Celebrate Bike to Work Day & Recharge with Recreation!
It's #BiketoWorkDay! Ditch the car, feel the wind in your hair, and get to work with a healthy dose of exercise and fresh air. But Bike to Work Day is more than just a commute - it's a reminder that recreation is essential for our well-being!
Here's why taking a break and having fun matters:
Reduces stress and boosts mood: Recreation helps us unwind, releases feel-good chemicals, and leaves us feeling energized.
Improves focus and productivity: A break from the daily grind can actually make us more effective when we return to work.
Strengthens social connections: Bike to work with colleagues, join a sports team, or explore nature with friends! Recreation is a great way to bond with others.
Enhances overall health: Physical activity can improve cardiovascular health, sleep quality, and even boost your immune system.
So how will you recharge today? Share your favorite ways to unwind and have fun in the comments!

Serving our Community
As a Augusta, Georgia Department, we love to serve our community by providing recreational opportunities such as green spaces, parks, and playgrounds, as well as programs for all ages and abilities such as after school care, senior programs, swim classes, and much more. As Augusta, Georgia employees, we love to serve and give back to our community. Today, staff members visited the Master's Soup Kitchen to serve lunch to people in need. Also today, another group of staff visited the Golden Harvest Food Bank to fill food packages, which will be delivered to families in need.
