We hit the road this morning with a packed SUV. Sarah told me I seriously couldn’t put anything else in there! Of course I did. After 8 years our packing skills have improved. What use to take a truck and trailer we can fit in the back of the SUV. We are off for this week’s wedding set-up day!

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to tour The Old Springhouse Event Center with one of our sweet couples. It’s one of the newest venues in the area and just beautiful! Another plus, it’s also a winery.

The Old Springhouse has EIGHT handmade, wooden farmhouse tables for our couples to use 🤎

Picked up a few copies of the newly released Magnolia Wedding Collective’s Magnolia Bridal Magazine yesterday. It features the Goodstone Style Shoot we planned and designed last year! Images by Madison, LLC’s beautiful photo made the cover. The style shoot was made possible by some of the best wedding professionals in the Shenandoah area and West Virginia! Christmas is such a beautiful time of year. We’ve had the privilege to design, decorate and plan the S.J. Morse Christmas Dinner for a number of years. They allow us to create the design every year and it’s still a thrill when they tell us they love it. RAH Creations took a few pictures for us of the details. Boy, did this set up have the details! Lots of candlelight, greenery with pgold accents and even hand crafted napkins rings. We can’t wait to see the rest of the photos.

Sometimes you find inspiration in such lovely places. Yesterday before classes started we visited a botanical garden. This changes seasonally and for autumn it was created to look like an enchanted fairy garden. We are at the Wedding MBA again this year. Yesterday, we attended classes for florist, officiants, catering, venues, dress shops and of course, planning! We do this because we can learn more by seeing the same wedding from different perspectives. Back again today for another full load of classes.

One of Sarah’s favorite meetings is the “Mock-up”. She takes ideas from the bride and creates 3 different tables with centerpieces and decor, usually at 3 different price points. If we can we prefer to set up at the venue. Then we make changes, trying different looks until we get it just right! It’s just one of the benefits of being a Sarah K Bride!
