Congratulations to Mrs. Boddy being named the March PTSA Tireless Teacher!

Student/Parent Submission:
Mrs. Boddy has been a constant source of support and inspiration for my son throughout high school. He almost walked away from music Freshman year, but the moment he stepped into Varsity Singers sophomore year, he was encouraged and challenged to do his very best. He not only stayed in music, but he is also now pursuing a Music degree in college. Mrs. Boddy has high expectations of her students and spends hours preparing lessons and materials to make sure they excel as musicians. More importantly, she wants them to excel as humans. If any teacher lived the Metea L.I.F.E. principles, it's Mrs. Boddy. She will leave a lasting impact on all of us long after we leave Metea.

Congrats again Mrs. Boddy! Have a great weekend everyone!

Congratulations to Mustang Musicians

Congratulations to our 50 Metea Valley student musicians on their acceptance and participation in the Illinois Music Education Association District 9 Concert and Jazz Festivals. Our students completed an audition with musicians from 49 other high schools in the western suburbs. The audition is very challenging and includes collegiate level material to prepare. Being selected for this honor in a very competitive district is quite an accomplishment. These students will be performing on the Concert Festival at Dundee-Crown High School on November 13 and the Jazz Festival at Hampshire High School on November 20.

Choir Announcements
2021-2022

October and November

Congratulations to our students on Metea’s first live concert in 18 months! We are already looking forward to many more together!

District-Provided Singing Masks
Each student this year has received a district-provided singing mask. District 204 is requiring all students to wear these masks during daily rehearsals and for all performances. Students wearing the singing mask for all singing activities, as opposed to their “everyday” variety, allows District 204 to remain compliant with the state-mandated mask requirements for music participation in schools.

Collage Concerts
Collage rehearsals and performance week: November 29th - December 3rd

Many details on the Collage Concerts are still forthcoming, but we would like you to know that at this time all dates and times pertaining to Collage on the meteamusic.org calendar are accurate.

Throughout the night, the middle school students will rehearse with Metea students (listed above), watch some of our co-curricular groups perform, and all tenors, and basses will participate in our annual Guys Sing Night for a portion of the schedule. Additionally, all tenors and basses will remain until 9:00 pm for a quick combined rehearsal of their Collage song.

Arrival Times and Performance Time:
All co-curricular groups are called for a 5:00 pm start to help greet guests as they arrive.
If not in a co-curricular ensemble, all tenors and basses are called at 6:15 pm
There will be a combined, informal performance at 8 pm in the Metea Auditorium

Metea’s Treble Singers and Combined Chamber/Varsity Singers will participate in District 204’s annual choir festival in which each auditioned high school choir will perform for and be cliniced by a guest director. This year, our Chamber/Varsity Singers will work with retired Neuqua Valley director, Mr. Jay Kellner. Our Treble Singers will work with Elmhurst University’s Choral Director, Prof. Sarah Catt.
