At 12 Miles Stables we can meet your needs of a small or large group for horseback rides located inside Cherry Creek State Park. We have over 3300 acres and 27 miles of riding trails to give your family a great adventure!

We are looking for a couple wranglers to come join our team at 12 Mile Stables, located in Cherry Creek State Park in south Aurora, CO.

12 Mile Stables offers an array of fun activities, such as guided trail rides, beginner to advanced lessons in Western riding, and a children's summer day camp. It is the Wrangler's responsibility to help these activities happen in a safe, fun and timely manner.

To make our business successful, efficient and fun, we ask that our team is composed of people who are fun-loving, energetic and hard-working. We also ask that people on our team have excellent customer service skills, work well in a team setting, take initiative to get daily tasks done, and are safety-conscious, as it will be part of the wranglers' duties to tend to the horses and clients.

Please know that, because we work with horses, physical labor is a big portion of the job. Therefore, you will be expected to stand and/or sit in a saddle for long periods at a time and in all weather conditions, lift up to 60 lbs. and help with other various physical tasks (i.e. assisting in cleaning stalls or mending fences). We require our wranglers to be at least 18 years old with prior horse experience.

Day Camp Registration opens February 1st and spots will fill up fast!!
Cost for the week is $595.
Day Camp goes from 9am-4pm for youngsters ages 7-16.

This is the time to sign your youngster up for a week-long horse camp! Your youngster will be assigned their own horse for the week and they will learn how to groom and saddle, care for their horse, as well as have tons of fun learning in the arena and on trail rides!

Week 1: May 20-24, 2024 *Half week available for Week 1, pro-rated! Call for details*

12 Mile & Kodiak Ranch combined forces to host a group for a special event to experience some unique aspects of the western lifestyle. The group got to enjoy a trail ride, meet Hogan (one of the most awesome and cuddly Brahma Bulls), and learn a little bit about roping.
While we are known for our trail rides, we enjoy all of the special events we get the opportunity to be a part of. 🤠

Every morning we head down to the pasture, halter the horses and then let them freely run up as a herd. It is quite the beautiful sight to see!! Likewise every evening after unsaddling we unhalter them at the tie rails and let them run back down to the pasture. In Cherry Creek State Park, we often see deer, coyotes, rabbits, prairie dogs, foxes, hawks, eagles, owls and many other critters. One of our wranglers caught a video of a coyote while out on a trail ride.
