Thank you to our talented cast and crew who made “Doctor Crypt’s House of Terror” happen on Sunday night! Thank you to actors Scott, Joi, Kyle, Mark, Adrian, Emily, Mike, Guy and Bethany. Not only did they perform multiple roles with style and grace befitting the Golden Age of Radio, they also provided stunning sound effects at the prop table and portrayed Doctor Crypt through two decades. The audience had a great time and so did those of us onstage.

Thank you to playwrights Dave, Kevin and the writers of the old radio plays we adapted (whoever they are), along with Beth, Bernie, Jeremy, John, and the ushers!

Our next show is in the new year, February 16th, called “The Art of Seduction.” We’ll select the other show themes for 2025 soon, so stay tuned. Suggestions for show themes are always welcome! We will start accepting play and story submissions for “Seduction” late next month.

We have finished our rehearsals for DR.CRYPT'S HOUSE OF TERROR and are preparing for the show this Sunday night, October 13, 7:30 p.m. at Vintage Theater. Join our host, Doctor Crypt, for an evening of old-time radio mystery, horror and adventure. Our gleeful and ghoulish host will present our thrilling and chilling stories from the House of Terror’s parlor ("He Only Lives at Night"), garden ("Midnight Call"), cellar ("The Adventures of Dirk Diamond, Private Eye") and garage ("The Monster in the Mirror"). “Join us…if you dare!” says Doctor Crypt. (But don’t worry, he’s harmless, though he does cackle a lot.)

We’ve selected the plays for our next One Night Stand Theater production, “Doctor Crypt’s House of Terror”! Thank you to the playwrights and writers who sent in their plays and stories for our evening of old-time radio thrills and chills. Our October 13 show features adaptations of mystery and horror radio programs of the 1930s and 1940s as well as new plays in the style of old-time radio:

—An irate customer regrets spying on the night shift in “Midnight Call” by Kevin David Anderson.
—Private eye Dirk Diamond faces subterranean dangers while eluding a killer gorilla in “Episode 7: Cavern of Despair” by Dave Ufford.
—The ugliest woman in the world travels a dark and wicked path to be beautiful again in 1944’s “The Monster in the Mirror.”
—Shelter from the storm turns gruesome and suffocating for two ghost hunters in 1937’s “He Only Lives at Night.”

Our host for the evening, Doctor Crypt, says he can’t wait to see you at the show: “It would be murderous to miss it!”

Tickets STILL only $10 at https://www.onenightstandtheater.org/ -- while they last!

Thank you to everyone who was a part of our “By Popular Demand” show! Thanks also to Vintage Theatre for hosting us and our great audience.

Our next One Night Stand Theater show is “Doctor Crypt’s House of Terror” on October 13: it’s an evening of old-time radio thrills and chills. If you're coming to "By Popular Demand" tonight ...

Due to construction by the City of Aurora, parking is different at Vintage Theatre this weekend; the Dayton Street block at the Vintage Theatre entrance (between Colfax and 14th Avenue) is closed for sewer line replacement. The parking lots to the north and south of the building are also closed during this construction.

The best places to park are in the lots behind Vintage (just to the east), which you can access from Emporia Street (one block east of Dayton) and from the alleys to the north and east of the theater. There is parking immediately behind Vintage and a block to the east in the Aurora Library parking lot.

Plan extra time to get yourself parked, and come a little early to access the closest spots.
