People always ask me if, as a wedding planner, my wedding day was perfect. On this day 6 years ago, these two little lovebirds got married after scraping up every ounce of their savings and planning a wedding in 3 months.
It was a balmy 70 degrees, so none of the winter elements we planned to include were usable.
I left my petticoat at our hotel and husband had to drive back for it, only to realize that neither he nor the hotel concierge actually knew what a petticoat was.
Our guests were left waiting close to 20 minutes for our sparkler exit to start because the wedding party member with our car keys disappeared to a bar next door and let their phone die.
175 people RSVPed. Over 200 showed up.
But man, I have the sweetest memories of that day. I hope you enjoy these very 2018 trend throwbacks (oh hey there, naked cake) and this reminder that no day is perfect and that, above all, your marriage is more important than your wedding.
Happy anniversary to my sweet husband, who knows that deep down I’m just too soft for all of it🤍
