Texas 4-H State Roundup - Pyrotechnic, Flames & Other Special Stage Effects
We loved being a part of Texas 4-H Youth Development Program’s premiere annual event, State 4-H Roundup. This year’s theme was “Ignite 4-H” which allowed us to incorporate pyrotechnic, flame and other special stage effects adding some “WOW” factor each evening! If you don’t know about 4-H, it is a youth organization (3rd-12th grade) which offers members hands-on experiences in leadership, community service, career discovery, building connections, and developing life-long skills. I personally am grateful for 4-H as I have had 3 sons involved in it as they were growing up and have been an adult volunteer since 2007 and for the past 10 years have been involved with the Texas 4-H STEM Ambassdors as an adult advisor! The teens I work with always amaze me with all they do! Go check them out!!

What ideas have you seen to make you not forget?
Did you know you can add a pyrotechnic effect which is considered a stage effect and while it might be a small device, it has a big effect for calling attention to the moment or person(s) needing to capture attention. We like to use what are called gerbs. There are varying heights, durations and sometimes we might even use some with a little color.
Gerbs are produced both indoors and outdoors and since they are a pyrotechnic effect, they do require permitting (where applicable in most cities and counties). We’ve produced this effect for weddings, corporate events, product reveals, sporting events, grand openings, concerts and more!
