Welcome to The Flower Studio's first social blog! Today we're going to take a trip through history and explore the origins of Mother's Day.

Mother's Day is a holiday that is celebrated in many countries around the world. In the United States, Mother's Day is observed on the second Sunday in May. The holiday was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 to honor her mother, who had passed away three years earlier. Anna wanted to create a day to honor all mothers and to promote peace.

The first Mother's Day celebration was held on May 10, 1908, in West Virginia. Anna Jarvis organized a memorial for her mother and invited others to honor their mothers as well. The celebration was a huge success, and the idea quickly spread across the country.

In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation making Mother's Day a national holiday. Since then, Mother's Day has been celebrated every year on the second Sunday in May.
