When I think of a place that embraces the tranquility of the ocean, supports local artisans and focuses on wholesome gastronomy of the region - this place is it!
The way this resort is laid and designed makes it feel more intimate and welcoming, while still being competitive in size and accommodations to other resorts without feeling like guests are on top of each other.
The onsite beach is phenomenal, the event locations on-property are breathtaking, and if you are looking for exhilaration, there’s no shortage of opportunities!
It’s like they have everything down to a science here, and obsessed by us is an understatement.

What is your planning and design team doing for your wedding weekend?
When designing a wedding we are constantly thinking through not only the beauty of the space, but the flow.
Where are guests starting?
How are they greeted?
How do they move from one space to another and how do they know when or how to do this?
What are they experiencing when in each space we’ve designed?
How are they being served, surprised and delighted?
How is the vendor team moving through the space? Are there wide enough pathways for servers? Are guests being bumped or crowded or alienated?
Where is the best lighting?
Best backdrop for key moments?
Where are our focal points?
How is your eye being drawn through the space as you enter it?
What’s the size of the dance floor relative to the unique group we are serving? Do we focus on more of a dance heavy vibe? Do we need strolling entertainment to break people out of their shells? Or do we need to foster a more laid-back speakeasy vibe with ample plush seating, live music and a gastronomic experience paired with carefully curated cocktails?
There are endless things to consider as a designer that a pretty mood board does not convey.
Then it’s up to our production team to bring all the pieces and logistics together for a seamless experience leading up to and on the day.
With ~75% of wedding planners being in business for less than 5 years, that means the mass majority are newer to this industry, with high turnover and less experience when it comes to all the finer details of an event weekend that seasoned planners bring to the table.

Planning an event in Mexico? Here are some tips from @jessica_romanticdestinations to help ensure your special weekend goes smoothly:
1) Consider the time of year! For example, if you’re planning something in Puerto Vallarta in August, it’s super humid (like 100% humidity 🥵) & hot. It would be for an indoor event to stay cool & avoid dehydration around that time. Also, be aware of hurricane season June to November.
2) If you’re having a destination wedding at an all-inclusive resort, check if kids are allowed. Some resorts are just for adults (this includes the events being hosted at that property), it’s important to know before you sign that contract. Talk to your hotel contact & planning partners to be sure.
3) Visit your venue before you decide! Don’t just rely on pictures online. Go see it in person to make sure it’s the perfect fit for your event. Rely on your planning & travel team to ensure the ceremony space, food quality & overall experience aligns with your vision. If you want a private outdoor area, check out where the ceremony would take place (& random guests won’t be intruding). As a travel agent, I’ve done 20+ site visits to different resorts in Riviera Maya & they’re all a bit different as to what is available for events & weddings so partnering with an experienced travel agent will narrow your search!
4) Choose vendors who have experience in Mexico! It’s important to bring in people who know how to work in a foreign country. Like a photographer who understands the timing needed for humidity & acclimating equipment needed for great photos. Or a planner that understands the climate & wind for appropriate design & production.
5) Hire an event planner that partners with a seasoned Travel Advisor! A travel planners connections to the hotel for rooming block negotiations, guest travel management, concessionary discounts & VIP experience is worth it! 😃😃Event and Wedding Pros going into wedding weeks well rested, ready to see their favorite creative partners, their clients, greet guests…and then feel like Stu after💀💀, but without the alcohol.😵💫😵💫
I had heard people talk about “event hangovers” or “wedding hangovers”, but it wasn’t until we fully produced an event, didn’t drink a drop of alcohol and woke up the next day feeling like I had a night like Stu that I understood. 😂

Even the most well thought out, plan A, plan B, plan C events are subject to human error.
Every time we have an event that we realize has been seamless up to a certain point, we always have these moments like Elf….where we are slightly cringing while pouring over everything one more time to see what risks are left to happen. 😅😅😅
There’s no such thing as a perfect day, but it can be seamless. Who you hire as the dream team and how you handle the crazy, the chaos, the unplanned and unpredictable is what makes all the difference.
This particular cake vendor was able to make a 1 hour drive back to the bakery, recreate an *almost* identical tiered bridal cake with faux layers, and return with a cake, sheet cake and set up just as dinner was concluding.
Was it ideal? No. It was stressful AF.
But they made it happen! 🙏🏼

An enchanting day and evening at Etereo Auberge:
Cocktails on the beach, a feast by the sea, and irresistible moments of laughter, love, and connection.
Our dinner over the ocean was generations of flavors coming alive as we savored the culinary heritage passed down from abuelas to the Chefs that were inspired and influenced by them.
Late night bonfires, s’mores, churros, and the rhythm of live music then guided us to dance and create cherished memories on the white sandy beachfront.
Joyful, delicious, and soulful – the perfect recipe for an unforgettable evening with incredible friends.
