This little boy melts this momma heart. His snuggles are healing, his smile is contagious, his kisses are oh so wet, but sooo sweet. I don’t even care. He is all boy, and the sweetest, and most tender little guy. He holds a very special place in my heart.

Almost 18 months of this squishy little love! He sat right down and smiled right at the camera. He knew exactly what to do, did it, and proceeded to romp through the field of bluebonnets for the rest of the evening. I just love him. 🥰

This little miss recently turned 3 and I can’t even believe it! She is getting so grown up! She loves to dance, help me around the house, sing, wear her hair in two French braids, and play with her daddy. She’s is fully of energy, is a great big sister and loves life.

This may be my favorite time of year. It feels fresh. New. It is like the rebirth of the earth as color comes back into our life. Recently I have loved just laying on a blanket in my backyard watching the clouds roll by while my littles play outside. 🌳🌸🌼🍀

STOP moving so fast!— I have a super high energy, fast paced (but oh so cute) husband, so I often find myself just running, running, running. I like being busy! I like feeling like people need me and that my life has purpose! I like trying to keep up with him and all his fun ideas!

But, I also enjoy the quiet. I revel in the serenity of a cool breeze. I love watching Nic play with our little ones and just listening to their perfect little giggles. I love watching the clouds slowly glide by. It centers me. It brings me peace, and I need it and really crave it sometimes.

My challenge to you today is to just stop. Stop moving so incredibly fast, and find a place to just enjoy the silence. This world and this life really are so beautiful. Take some time to soak them in.

“Are you still doing photography?” I’ve gotten this question a number of times over the last year, and the answer is YES!!! I absolutely am! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the beginning of the year, I mentioned making some changes in my life. My word for the year is, “Happy,” and I’m sticking to that. I have found that stressing over constantly posting on social media wasn’t really making me “Happy,” so I made the decision to only post when I feel like it. And you know what?! It’s been so great! I’ve actually had more shoots, I get to spend more time with my littles, I’ve been able to work on projects that make me happy, and I can serve my clients even better than I have before! It’s been a win all around, and I feel so very blessed! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Dear Nic,

Tomorrow marks our 4th Anniversary. My heart is so full as I look back on our last four years.

One thing that has stuck out to me lately is your smile. It’s one of my favorite things. Not just because it’s a great, handsome smile. But your smile has so much power. Sometimes you smile at me, because you know I can do anything if you are smiling at me. And it’s true! Your smile tells me that everything is okay. It tells me I’m doing well even when I don’t feel like I am. It gives me strength to keep going. To keep trying. To push forward. Your smile shows your own immense strength, because I know you don’t always feel like smiling, but you do it anyway, especially when it’s hard, and it’s incredible. Your smile calms my heart, eases my anxieties, and lifts me when I need it. Your smile brings light, joy, and laughter to our home. It’s contagious and so liberating.

I love it when you smile because it means I’m empowered, I’m safe, I’m happy, and I’m home.

Finally got family pics done and I’m so excited! This little stud is so snuggly and fun! I realize I haven’t posted a ton of pictures of him over the last six months. I’ve just been soaking up all his snuggles and I don’t regret it one bit! 🥰🥰🥰 But here is our sweet Clark. He’s the perfect snuggler and such a sweet baby. I feel so blessed to be his momma.

I’ve recently had the opportunity to dig through some of our old photos. The last four years have been so crazy and exciting that I often forget to stop and remember how very blessed we have been to have lived in and traveled to some of the most beautiful places in the world. I still have dreams about our time living in Australia and I can’t wait to go back some day. My how time flies! It feels like it was just yesterday. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

FRESH// starts are my absolute favorite, and that’s what I love about spring! There’s just something beautiful about starting fresh.

Soaking in all these pretty white blossoms on the tree in our front yard, it’s crazy to think that just a few short weeks ago, we weren’t sure if this tree would survive the crazy ice storm we had here!

There is such strength in this. Spring shows resilience. Determination. Dedication. It shows beauty in pushing through life’s difficulties. It’s a FRESH start and a new beginning.

Side note: Bluebonnets are on there way here and I’m so excited! I love this season, and I love documenting people’s FRESH starts!

It’s so easy to get caught up in the busy-“momtrepreneur” way of life. We must always be showing our work. Sharing our life. Hustling so hard at every waking moment. But sometimes I just can’t do it all by myself, and that’s okay! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, I hand it over to the Lord. And every time I do, He blesses me with so much more than I could have done on my own with my meager little efforts. He has a better plan EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. And in the end, I am more productive, less stressed, I have more time with my babies, and the opportunities just flow in. I’ve seen this happen in my life over and over again, and I’m so much happier when I remember to hand my stress over to the Lord and focus on what matters most in my life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I was going to share about how mom life is hard and stressful and owning and trying to run a business on top of it is emotionally draining. But, I think this scripture about sums up the actual message I wanted to get across.

Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I am one of those people who is constantly going. I’m frequently doing way too many things, and I honestly don’t even realize it until I start to burn myself out.

But this is where I always find my peace. In Christ, my Savior and my Redeemer. When I remember that, my anxieties and my stresses melt away. When I work so hard and it feels like it’s for nothing, I know I can hand it over to Him and finally get the rest that my soul needs.

There is Peace in Christ.

I can’t believe she’s almost 2! Two years ago later this month, our lives changed forever. This may be my all-time favorite picture of these two. My little Mom heart just can’t handle it, and I can’t believe how fast time is flying! He still loves her this much and more and she is head-over-heals for him! The bond they share is so special, and I can only hope and pray she’ll find a man one day who will adore her as much as her daddy does. 😭 Stay sweet little one! 🥰😭😘 We sure love you! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I'm a girl and I was just having one of those "girl moments" yesterday. You know, where you doubt yourself and second guess everything you've worked super hard for, and trained for. But, as I was scrolling through photos that I've taken over the years, I was reminded of how far I've come and how beautiful some of these families are! And I was reminded... I. TOOK. THESE. PHOTOS! YES! I can do this! I've BEEN doing this! I AM doing this! What was I thinking?! 😂

Sometimes it's easy to compare yourself to everyone else. Be your best YOU, quit worrying about everyone else and just DO the thing!
